Well it lasted longer than I thought it would.

As a little known series, it has a unique art style and is filled with unique panel design and-oh- backgrounds! Which a lot of stuff in current Jump is devoid of.

I really hope they release them in print here.

Shame Sad I was really enjoying it. I wonder what will be replacing it in the English version of Weekly Shonen Jump? Whatever it is I hope it's just as good as Cross Manage is.

Noo Sad
I didn't really have much of an idea of how it was doing in Jump in Japan., but I was hoping if it had lasted this long it would keep going. Bummer. It's one of my favorites in Jump. Had really solid art, too. I'll definitely buy it in print if they release it. Hope it gets a decent farewell.

Can't say I'm surprised, since the series has been ranking dead last for nearly its entire run. But still, it's sad to see this go. The series had really started growing on me the past few months.

Here's hoping Kaito's next work gets a better reception, because I think he has a real talent for characterization and his art's fantastic.

I wasn't expecting this to end so suddenly, this series had an incredible run. There was really nothing else like it in any medium.

I can't wait for the new series from this author.

since I was already surprised it lasted that long [five volumes is a lot for an axed Jump manga, some don't even make it to two] I was hoping it will manage to hang on too. too bad, it was a great series. sigh. Anime cry

I had a feeling this was building up after last week's game finale.

Has a sports manga ever ended on a team loss like that before?

Japanese don't know lacrosse. It's more a Northeast US thing.

Which is probably why I'd been digging on it more or less.

I ranked it 4th more often then not, usually going back and forth with World Trigger.

(for the record my Top 4 typically goes 1. One-Punch Man 2. Torriko 3. One-Piece and 4. usually flip flops between Cross Manage and World Trigger. Though Jaco's probably going to bump both off the list for the next few months)

Considering my subscription ended several months ago and I haven't gotten around to renewing it since, I technically didn't see this coming.

I was kinda expecting this, but I was really enjoying this series so I was hoping it would go on.

At least now I'll be looking forwards to Kaito's next work.

Sad news. I rather liked that manga; I think Jason did a good job of summing up exactly why it appeals to me in one of his House of 1000 manga columns:
Quote:
[On Shonen Jump Alpha:] It's nice having some romance to balance out the testosterone and collectible cards, so I'm glad the lineup includes some rom-coms as well. Cross Manage, about a teenager who has to stop playing soccer because of an injury but instead becomes coach of the girl's lacrosse team, is fun. Kaito, the artist, has a nice knack for storytelling and facial expressions, especially for Misora, the super-enthusiastic cute girl who convinces our hero to coach her team.

There's something to be said for well-executed genre fare. Really looking forward to the mangaka's next work.
