please recommend some romantic comedies. I really like this genre but I've been having trouble finding anymore. I've liked:
School Rumble ( love this show) Full metal panic series (especially fumoffu, hilarious stuff) REC (really good, but too short) Ai Yori Aoshi, including Enishi Fate/ Stay night (not really comedic, but I still liked it) please recommend any that you think are good, thanks alot omg, how did I forget Love Hina. I've already watched that, also forgot to mention Shuffle!. I enjoyed both but got was kinda bored of Shuffle! at times. thanks, I'm gonna start on Honey and Clover, please give me more recommendations Last edited by fireofthewill on Sun Aug 13, 2006 5:44 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Well I really enjoyed Love Hina, it was probably the best romantic comdey that I've seen. It had a few serious parts but it wasnt anything depressing and the ending was good which is a plus. Honey and Clovers is another though I've only seen a few episodes many people said it was very good and I'm sure many people will agree with me on that.

Try Honey and Clover, it's on the more drama side, but there is enough laughs in there for comedy to be part of the mix of genres.

Yeah Honey and Clover is my favorite anime of all time.
So I'll just list some for you -Have Watched- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimya - Many people do not understand or realize the romance (I did) but the comedy is top notch. Also the episodes are out of order, so try to put things together without watching it in order (it kills the series) Fruits Basket- Very funny and romantic, but it gets a little sad later on. Some Action/Comedy/Romance - Martian Successor: Nadessico - My first anime (after DBZ of course) Mai-Hime - Like fruits basket, it funny but it gets sad as well (very sad) FLCL - Allthough Romance is not listed as a genre for this anime, it is included near the end (being that there are only 6 episodes). And it's one of the funniest IMO Shakugan no Shana - A great and unique way of combining action, comedy and romance -Have not Watched- Ouran High School Host Club Spirited Away (movie) - I've watched some but not enough to determine the quality of the romance (it's a great movie so far though) Kimagure Orange Road (the whole series) Great Teacher Onizuka Honey and Clover II - CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH IT!!! Genshiken - Romance isn't listed but theres some (I've watched a little). Very funny anime about Otaku-s. Full Moon |

I would have to recommend Marmalade Boy.
anime#461 Love triangles? Bah! Too simple for this story: spoiler[Miki loves Yuu; Ginta, Kei and Michael love Miki; Akiko, Arimi and Jinny love Yuu, Brian and Bill love Jinny...] needless to say things get REAL interesting. I think you'll like it. Last edited by LydiaDianne on Mon Aug 14, 2006 12:09 am; edited 1 time in total |

Most titles you have are fairly non-conventional. Maybe you would like to give somethings thats more standardized a shot. If you do, I would suggest Vandread. It contains mostly overused themes, and is very generic, but it was very well carried out. If compared, I'd say the genre spread is that of FMP: some action, some romance, alot of comedy (although in this case chip some comedy into action). The strongest point of this show is the cast in my opinion, but thats because I was a Sakura Taisen fan. Whether you will like it or not I dont know, but its something that if you have time you should try out.
P.S.- I actually gave the dub of this a shot since it was done by Pioneer. I was fairly satisfied with the dubbing. I wouldnt have mind watching it in dub if sub wasnt available. Only complaint that I may have is that the voices were too blend. |

I suggest Steel Angel Kurumi, its definitely got all the mushy stuff in it and its funny at times. It gets a bit serious at the end (not talking about the encore) and the second series has nothing to do with seriousness. But apart from that Love Hina and FLCL are probably my favorites.
