Welp here we go again, let the ongoing debate continue that fictional characters need rights to.

This is so... This is so... gaah
From the linked article;
Quote:
Also according to experts "all characters are presented as minors, who participate in pornographic scenes".

Oh really.Rolling Eyes Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Ever heard of styles? Next, ban small breasts? Wait, that's done...

By the way, is that an illustration by Poyoyon in the TVoR article? Smile

I just don't understand, the point of bans on child pornography are cause they involve actual children! Last time I checked in japan the law states you must be the age of an adult to legally work for company's creating pornographic content. so There were no children involved. this makes me so mad I just want to drowned these so called experts.

By the way does anyone know what show/shows were actually banned? I wanna see If its actually got anything remotely close to child porn

Furthermore, they found no "storyline and any cultural or historical value."

Uhh...what? So this would be okay to them if they threw Abraham Lincoln into one of the orgies?

Anyways, blah blah blah, this is ridiculous, they should be more focused on taking down the real child porn sites on the Deep Web then things like this.

Article is un clear. Has it banned just those 13 episodes or ALL hentai or something else?

Further more most Hentai involving young characters I have seen the characters are in the last year of high school... i.e 18 years old and legal.

lol it's porn, that's its value.

Anyway most hentai (at least that I've seen) has women with exaggerated "features." I think that is what people are after, not the fact you still think they look like children. I think its more likely hentai watchers will look for those "features" in real life (i.e. adults) over children.

I got no argument for overly developed children (jail-bait) or subtle "featured" hentai.

Unfortunately, rather than just LDP levels of insanity, seems they're taking a swipe at everything at once, from the TVoR article;

...outside experts made an expertize and rendered a verdict: hentai is a child pornography.

An expertize indeed Rolling Eyes

Well most characters in anime are under the age of 18 but look much older than they appear to be. Now as on what series it is who knows??

Glorious news comrade! Finally, our children will be safe from the vile nature of these pornographic images! To replace them, I recommend an All-Putin channel, where the children can view safe images of our illustrious leader. Like this! And this!

Srsly though, one of the biggest struggles in anthropology is to overcome the idea that our cultural norms are universally correct. Personally, I am a strong defender of the right to freedom of speech and am glad that I live in a country where those rights are respected. But I also acknowledge the Russian people have the right to make their own laws, even if I find these laws odious. These episodes were judged by Russian law and found to be in violation. If that's what the Russian government wants to do, then so be it. I have full faith that in the long run* free speech will win out. Or to quote Robert Frost, I believe everyone has the right to go to hell in their own way.

*in this case, 'long run' might be 200-400 years. Blink of an eye, really.
