So if it doesn't also to CR, then they were going to be a competing/blocking service with the immense advantage of having the Japanese companies making it up? Guess we'll find out.

So far I am totally unimpressed by Daisuki. The regions are similar to what Crunchyroll would use so I wouldn't be surprised if Crunchyroll also had it although it might be delayed a week or have its regions more limited so something (Of course, it could have the exact same regions and the exact same simulcast time too).

Free, HD, and their player is leaps better than CrunchyRoll's, I think we have a winner folks.

If Crunchy starts losing Aniplex titles, thats a pretty big blow.

I'm glad another company is simulcasting anime now. There's so many shows that come out each season. Hopefully now we can see more of them come over now.

So, if Daisuki is owned in part by Aniplex Japan (who obviously have the wordwide streaming rights to their own series until they sell them) why on earth is this going through the american subsidiary and limited to such a small number of countries? I mean, surely nobody /else/ holds the rights for Belarus or Rwanda, so what is the rationale here?

I have to say, as someone who was hoping that the launch of Daisuki would mean finally getting access to legal streaming outside of Crunchyroll's measly selection, so far Daisuki has been nothing but a disappointment.

Measly? I'm watching 15 titles on CR this season and only 4 on other (cough) sources. What are you missing?

They made it pretty clear when the website first launched that they were not going for exclusive rights to the shows and that they wanted to provide an alternative similar to what is seen with streaming sites in Japan. While that might change, I doubt it will.

Well, I think just found out how Daisuki is going to deliver half the titles they released on their surveys. Not that I mind. I just hope that it's either a monthly subscription or a relatively cheap download to own option with very little DRM.

Perhaps Hamsterpuff is in one of the regions underserved by even CR.
