You know, I want to see a DB game that adapts the entire story of the series the way "Budokai Tenkaichi 2" did. I want to see all three entries in the DB saga. I hate how the first DB gets glossed over in favor of GT.

I just hope there's better QC for this game. Pretty ridiculous that the last few games have some recycled audio with former cast members and then it's just jarring when you expect the rest of the scenes to have voice-over with the new cast.

Solution: Stop being cheap and recording NEW dialogue for everything

I hope this one finally has GT characters (or at least be somewhat similar to the tenkaichi series)

No Wii U release? Oh well, I guess there is still time for them to change their minds and it is still releasing on the PS360 pair and a platform which is likely to be supported and pushed in the next five years. Budokai Tenkaichi 2 was good fun on the Wii and it had similar circumstances...

On the game itself, good to see they are implementing ideas I've seen well executed in prior Dragon Ball Z games or other anime licensed games (4 players at once, giants in standard gameplay(?) etc), hopefully the gameplay will be on the level of BT2/3 along with the content. I don't see myself wanting to use Super Saiyan God Goku but I'll take it. >_>

Oh look, it's the same one DBZ game they've been making for over a decade, repackaged yet again.

Hooray.

I don't get how they can keep making new DBZ games. With Naruto and One Piece is makes sense since there's new characters always popping up in the series, but DBZ ended over a decade ago. What else is there to add?

Yeah they just keep making that one 4v4 fighting game over and over?

It'll probably be very similar to most of the DBZ games released since Budokai Tenkaichi.

And I'll play the ever-loving crap out of it, after buying it Day One.

While a scan has shown up from next week's Weekly Jump, the image you've chosen to highlight is from this Friday's V-Jump. The "Dragon Ball Scoop" (DBS) feature is a recurring thing.

What's the point in complaining? If you're a DBZ fan like myself, you'll probably pick it up just because it's DBZ.

But to answer your question:

- They are making money. DBZ fans still buy the new DBZ games. The fanbase is still huge - did you hear about how well Battle of Gods did?
- They have something new to add. I don't remember a single DBZ game being released that was just a complete rehash of the previous game. There was always something new, whether that was new characters or a new way to tell the story. In this case, it's the super saiyan god form and the 8 player royale. I am sure this isn't even a quarter of the new-new they're adding to the game but that's what they announced in the magazine, yet it's good enough for me. Not to mention, since the first game, the graphics have continuously gotten better.

I've been buying these DBZ games for years and I don't remember thinking for a second that it was a waste of money. It's always worth it. If any anime has a place to continue releasing action fighting games, it's DBZ. One Piece and Naruto only just copied the formula and released their own brand based on the success of the previous DBZ games so it's kind've ridiculous to say that they can stay but DBZ should go.
