Each episode of Hellsing Ultimate will be somewere between 30 and 35 minutes long, With 2 episode's being produced for Each volume of the manga. He only has another 2 volumes of the manga planned, for a total of 10 compleat volume's in all. So, by that logic, there should be 20 episodes in total.
hpe that help's you!

Actually, the first episode is 50 minutes and covers the entire first volume. It was originally planned to be 35 minutes but they later decided that that wasn't long enough for the whole volume. I've heard that they are trying to have each episode cover an entire volume, but I don't know if they will end up actually doing that for the whole series.

@sandy_taty: The original Hellsing series currently available in the U.S. was just called "Hellsing" and was a TV series animated by Studio Gonzo. The first half of the series followed the manga but then went off on its own for the second half.

"Hellsing Ultimate" is the new OVA (direct to video release, meaning no theatres and not on TV), is a remake and will follow the manga more faithfully. It will cover everything the manga does. The total number of episodes is unknown at this point.

The most popular title mentioned at the panel was Hellsing Ultimate, which earned many cheers from the crowd. After the clip, the VA for the English language dub, Crispin Freeman, came onto the stage and thanked the fans for their support. According to Geneon, all the original voice talent from the previous dub will be back, including Freeman as Alucard, K.T. Gray as Seras, Victoria Harwood as Integra and Ralph Lister as Walter. Hellsing Ultimate is currently scheduled for release on December 5.

And of course more then likely it going to be one volume for one OVA. So therefore I bet it's going to be at least 10 ova to cover the entire manga.

Things have changed. Each episode is around 50 minutes, and each episode covers an entire volume.

More then Likely it going to have only one episode on it. Geneon needs to make some money of this series since they are helping with producing it.

Yes, but they would need a lot of extras in order to justify the one-episode-per-disc in the U.S. market. It's normal in Japan, but not here. I think the second episode is supposed to come out in Japan soon, so I'm thinking it will have two episodes.

Episode 2 is coming out soon in Japan (2006-08-25), as for the US I think there will be special on there. Looking at OVA like Karas which runs for 80 minutes that was broken into two different releases. Also there a chance that Geneon might not be able to release both episodes on one disc, normally the Japanese company wants to wait some time so that Japanese viewers will have to buy there product which will cost more.

Either way one or two episode I am still going to stand by Geneon, hopefully they make some sort of artbox. But that could get tricky since no one is quite sure how many disc it will take to cover the series, probably 10 I bet.
Till next time,

In the case of Karas, it was originally 6 episodes but for the U.S. release each volume has 3 episodes strung together into one movie, much like what was done for the Samurai X "Director's Cut" DVDs.

If the second OVA episode comes out in Japan next month, then the December release will probably have both episodes.
