I'm trying to figure out how the UK got a Blu-ray and the US didn't. I thought Deadman did well on Toonami too...

I'm still trying to figure that one out, too. Was really strange, especially considering pretty much everything that Funi puts out is a BD/DVD combo pack. I'm hoping Funi eventually does release it on BD, as I thought it was good enough that it should have been released that way in the first place.

I wonder if they'll be censoring anything for the UK release.

For Funi, I bet a Blu Ray is coming later, maybe by the end of the year. That has been the pattern so far

Kadokawa is the distributor for the show in Japan, right? There's your answer

Exactly. I'm sure mos tof you listen to ANNcast and it has been explained by both Zac and Justin (amongst many others) that Kadokawa delays the Blu Ray release of their titles over here in the states. Since we share the same region code with Japan for Blu Ray (A) they fear reverse importation. So not only is there the typical 6-12 month delay after the Japanese release, but for Blu Rays, it's even more.

R1 distributors are at the mercy of the Japanese licensors. It's unfortunate, because by now, the show is what? 2 years old and with a DVD only release, a Blu Ray wouldn't help.

Also, the manga is no longer being released in English, so it's pretty much dried up. It's a shame too because the manga was really good and the first season was too.
