Anime made me love classical music, especially Chopin (my favorite composer).
You can hear Chopin's musics in School Rumble, Princess Tutu, the legend of galactic heroes, Touch, Momoiro Sisters and many others. So "Do new anime fans turn away from native music?" -> no. |

Much like Urd, since I've started watching anime (I'm 18 now so its been bout 3 years) I'm listening to more classical music (Beethoven mostly). Since I like instrumental music more than music with words, music from anime has a lot of instrumental. But I still listen to heavy metal a lot (Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth etc.) Most of the people I know who watch anime usually listen to "native music", so I would say that most new anime fans don't turn away from native music.

Except Beethoven's 7th Symphony and Hymn to Joy (4th movement of the 9th Symphony), I don't like Beethoven too much.
I prefer Chopin, Schumann and Liszt, romantic artists who combine zeal with elegance. Beethoven is good but too much methodical (to me).
Which Beethoven's titles do you like ?
