...I also don't understand why everyone's going all "Thank GOD we're getting a release at all!"

They said we were getting it back in September.

Sounds like Sam Regal is reprising his role as Phoenix from UMVC3.

And I think that's Cristina Vee as Athena.

Yea I am not buying and feel this will officially kill wright in the US. If they had problems with sales that led to five Wright games in physical form, I can only image how dismal physical only sales will be.

But then again we are talking about Capcom, so no surprise.

Digital only is to be expected of a niche anime title like this. I'm just happy we're getting it.

I don't see what that has to do with anything. It was likely decided as a digital release back when they greenlit it for localization.. they just didn't announce it until now.

The series isn't profitable enough to bother making a full physical release along with production and distribution.

Would I prefer a physical release? Sure. But I'm not going to kill off PWs chances of ever getting another game localized just because of it. I still love Phoenix Wright and will buy this.

I'll definitely be checking this out. Would have preferred a physical release, but it's pointless to stamp one's feet about it.

Jesus Christ. Use Nintendo's backwards ass digital account system to make full game purchases? I think not.

Guess this is jumping off point for this franchise for me.

I'll be buying it, but I'm not happy about it. Confused

Digital released are always last priority for me, and as much as I love this game series, it's going to wind up that way as well. There's really no incentive for me to buy early like there is if we were getting some for of limited edition or even just a preorder goodie.

I'm just worried about it going the way of Fate Unlimited Codes which got pulled from the PSN after a while (and the number one reason why I hate digital releases. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I can even delete that game off my PSP since it's not longer there for me to re-download...) I'd hate for something like that to become a trend...

Regarding Unlimited Codes, you can always save the file on your PC through that PSP file sharing program Sony has.

You can also still buy it off of Gamestops site as a loophole: http://www.gamestop.com/psp/games/fate-unlimited-codes/91562 (Believe me, it works since thats how I got it)

Thanks for the tips on that Smile

Still though...I'm not entirely pleased about the idea that I don't have full control over the games I purchase and it makes it harder to lend and borrow games with friends (which is why I don't blame businesses for wanting to go digital, heck, it's a smart move...). And, of course, I'm just a huge physical media fan ^^; I like having a displayable collection!

In any case, as I said before, I still plan on purchasing the game just so Capcom knows there's fans of the series still out here. I'm happy I got something (since it's better than nothing) but I felt like griping just to let the world know that I'd be happier with an actual physical release lol

What is everyone's deal with Digital Download only?

Be glad that we're getting it, and that we're getting it so soon. It makes total sense to not physically release this game seeing it's a niche title.

The franchise is actually popular in Japan. The last main game sold 3 times as much there. Then once you figure out yen conversion and how much less games in the US cost in general, plus the extra money it'll cost to "translate" and voice-cast it, they probably figure it wasn't worth it for a physical release since they'd not make much money off it.
