Don't know the first one, but Haruhi can also be classified as several genres depending on the viewer. What kind of genre are you looking for? Gutless comedies would be things like Azumanga Daioh and I "think" Excel Saga (never watched it) while there are the gorey (sp?) comedies such as Dokuro-chan and Dai Mahou Touge. If you're going after the Slice of Life aspect, I'd suggest something like Lamune or Air (not really SoL in my opinion, but kinda fits there). If you're after a somewhat supernatural harem type, I'd suggest Shuffle! Darker series would include the likes of Elfen Lied and F/SN (at least to me, the entire series just seemed to scream I'M GOING TO EAT YOUR SOUL). So it all really depends on the genre you like Anime smile

So drama and comedy, but their only common factor is that they're school-life.

Azumanga Daioh: A seemingly dull anime that's actually all comedy. Short 5 minute episodes for a total of I-don't-know-how-many-episodes. Check ANN's Encyclopedia for details, including summary.

School Rumble: A lot of comedy, with a pinch of love/drama and by my standards (people vary in their choice), much better than Azumanga Daioh because it's a lot more "active".

Chobits: Another school-life related anime about a college student who finds a female "persocom" ("Englisized" Japanese word for computer, but in this case a robot) in the middle of the street. Mostly drama but with lots of fun.

Honey and Clover: I can only assume by your poor writing skills that you're not in college yet so I normally wouldn't recommend it to you. But I'm currently watching it for a second time and thought it deserved a mention in any "I'm looking for school-life anime!" related thread. It's very mature, but with lots of comedy. It's a rare anime that inspires, not just pleases.

EDIT: Check avatar to see the best overall character in the history of anime. He's a character from Honey and Clover. :P

And for future reference, please try using this or this thread when you want different methods of finding anime that you like.

Well, so far we know you dont want to watch shounen, but its still kind of difficult to narrow down to animes that we are more certain you will like as we only have 2 references. The general question is of course what genre do you prefer. Other questions that may help is are you after story/character driven anime, or episode by episode (where each episode has less impact on each other). Do you favor cerain type of personality for the main characters, or even sub characters. Stuff like that will assure that you arent buying something that you are dissatisfied with.

[EDIT: Wow, you must be totally oblivous to ANN forum policy. "NO DOWNLOADS" is all I can really say to sum it up. But you're new, so I'll let you off with a warning this time. Do that again and I'll have you banned. Thanks. -TK]
