Fantastic interview. Maybe limiting these one-on-ones is a good thing -- he really opened up.
I was not a huge L'arc fan (although I did go to the concert at Otakon), but I really like this new album. This particular sound -- grungy pure rock -- seems to fit American studios and session musicians. True to form, Japan's facilities seem to specialize in the sort of sterile percision you find in J-pop. These generalizations are a little unfair, but they're true to a large degree. That's why so many good accoustic albums are still specifically recorded in Nashville. |

Amazing interview!
Glad you got the change to talk with one of MY idols... Lucky dog! Ha! HYDE has said a lot of this stuff before, but it really does seem like he opened up quite a bit to you. |

I've only listened to a few L'Arc songs, the Smile album, so I don't know much about Hyde or the other band members. Does anyone know why he makes those songs that have to do with Christianity and Jesus?

Try reading this thread. Anyway, I like the album, but I've seen so much Blood+ I'm addicted to SEASON'S CALL right now. MADE IN HEAVEN is pretty catchy, though. |

He said that he likes the ideas of religion and faith, but he's not actually religious himself. Like in the interview, Jesus Christ talks about contradictions, not that he believes in Jesus Christ \. |

Wow what a great interview, I'm kinda a new fan of his because of Season's Call from Blood+ but I'm really liking alot of his L'Arc music and I love Glamorous Sky, he did the music for that song. What a deep and intelligent guy he is, glad I discvered his music. I can understand what he means about religion, I am a pretty religious guy and I can feel where he comes from on that issue. Also I can't believe he likes Depeche Mode, I discovered them barely today and I love alot of their songs even though I'm more of a rap/r&b fan.

I think that happens when you answer a question like "How do you reconcile contradictions in faith?" instead of "What's your favorite color?" |

Nah, actually, Hyde IS rather pretentious when it comes to certain topics. ;;

My God. If I didn't know better, I'd say he was an attractive woman.

You should've seen him when he was younger. Whereas most visual kei artists use heavy make-up to look feminine, hyde needed only a minimal amount to be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen (which is kind of weird, but still).

Reminds me of the lead singer from Placebo, Brain Malko
Strange part about it is, I always thought that guy was a girl until I read an interview about him where he stated he was always hit on by guys in the bar and they would immediately stop talking to him when he told them his name was Brian. |
