YEEEEES! Consider all of the Japanese box sets purchased! I saw flyers for this at Tokyo Anime Fair, and I was wondering why they were trying to get it licensed... I'm glad someone took interest! Super excited to get my hands on these! The box sets in Japan are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive...

First Samurai Pizza Cats, now Monster Rancher...
I hope this trend of picking up older titles that aired on TV, yet never received a domestic Japanese-language release to coincide with the English-language release, continues. |

Thank goodness for nostalgia; otherwise, these kinds of older series wouldn't be picked up.

Well this is certainly one title I never expected to see in the US again. I see their going the Samurai Pizza Cats model for it, and hopefully that works out for them. I can think of some other shows I wouldn't mind being released this way...*cough*Shaman King*cough*

Whoa, I remember someone on the forum years ago saying they were trying to make this happen. Here's the thread.
I'm not a huge fan of this show, but would totally buy a Medabots set if Discotek would license that. |

oh Monster Rancher, how I've waited for you. I think in this case I don't mind doubling up and buying both the dub and sub sets

SO excited for this, though I have to admit - their willingness to do a subtitled set alongside the dub ones really makes me wish they had gotten Digimon as well.
Would really love to see them pick up Medabots and Flint the Time Detective in the future too. |

Now this instantly got on my radar. I like Discotek's approach of releasing sub and dub sets. Monster Rancher was never even remotely fully subbed as far as I know, so official subs and finally getting to see what the uncut is like would be great. I did enjoy the dub though, and for whatever reason Hulu never uploaded the last batch of eps, so it seems like I'll be spending an absurd amount of money on Monster Rancher. Will be curious to see if the sub sets still go with 'Monster Rancher' rather than 'Monster Farm'.
I'll also jump on the 'Please license Medabots' boat as well. I LOVED the dub for that and was irritated that season 2 never got released here [Season 3... not so much]. I'd definitely consider a sub release as well. |

I can read hundreds of news articles about new anime coming out and not care too much, but when I see one like this, it instantly catches my eye and puts a smile on my face. Long live old nostalgic anime~
