Ugh. Apple and Comixology really need to clarify what's "inappropriate" in a very specific way, because this is way too confusing and polemic. Good job getting Apple accused of homophobia, guys.

OTOH, I don't think there's been this much buzz about Saga since it came out, and if my autographed issues rise in value, good for me!

(Also, check it out. It's seriously a lot of fun and it has more plot and characterization than sex or eroticism that make for controversial news stories.)

I'd just finished reading that issue before this and had to look through it again to find the images they're talking about.

I don't even understand why the issue needed to have that image. Unless Prince Robot is still in the closet, but I don't think thats it.

Prince Robot is totally in the closet about his attraction to people with mouths.

Huh, that doesn't seem fishy. /sarcasm

Apple has a history of unequally applying their standards against gay characters (remember Yaoi Press and their innocuous yaoi manga that had no sex being banned?). The fact that the Comixology felt (so they now say) the need to remove such images when heterosexual ones stand in their comic is a sad indictment of such haphazardly applied policies and their stifling of content.

Saga brought way more attention to Apple's inconsistent policies than yaoi manga would, and it's a shame that people might let Apple off the hook just because it turned out to be Comixology's fault this time. As I said in the OP, they really need to clarify their standards and actually try to be consistent. As a private company, Apple has a right to ban "inappropriate" content from their direct apps, but this "know it when I see it" interpretation of inappropriate is causing all these problems.
