Ok, found something at a store, that has no information in the encyclopedia. So does anyone know anything about this title?
No anime nowhere, but at the adult shop. Had more anime there than all other sources in town, except for the comic store. Any wonder why people think porn when, if they think of anime? |

I have heard of this title myself and most likely will avoid it. If you pick up a release by NuTech (I recommend WOrds Worth) they have a whole lot of trailers on the other side of the discs; Desert Island X (in it's many incarnations) is among them.
BTW, what prices did they have at that adult store? I went looking in one once for anime and they wanted $50+ for one DVD! I skipped out of the store laughing the whole way... |

I don't remember there being any bondage in it (I could be wrong.), but there was alot of rape, which is a from of forced sex..., anyway spoiler[the girls plan their escape while fighting off the convits.] It's not that bad, or that great. I'm sure the box set should cost $50, but any higher then that, skip it. Check their site, they might trailers or the episode for download, at a cost. I think, heck, sure Anime on DVD will have a review of it.

I think the prices were more or less normal for a DVD, but I don't know how many episodes were on each disc.
Some live-action DVD's had some real sticker shock prices, like one was $70 for one disc, not box set, nothing. Anime was a real bargain in comparison. @ Ataru: Right, let's download porn at work. Good idea! |

I have seen this and it not that good. And if your get it for the sex, let me just say everything(peoples bits and pieces) was drawn very poorly.

So why is this the biggest item of anime in any store that does not specialize in anime? In general why is there more hentai available, than more mundane fare? Is this how some people view it as not being for kids? I don't know, just asking for your guesses here.

I hope I have a correct reading of your question; why is there more hentai titles available here than regular anime? Simply put, 1) it's all about sex, 2) most hentai anime run one to three episodes, so fewer episodes = more titles to license.
Am I in the ballpark? |

Well, it could be like it use to be around here with all the anime put in the childern videos. Yeah, pulling anime tapes from that shelf was alittle wired.
But back to change of topic at hand, yeah, sex sells, but if differs from area to area. It depends on what sells more becasue the Suncoast in Tacoma, WA had more Hentai then Anime, while in Columbia, MO had more Anime then Hentai (atleast the last time I checked.) |

Another question Gecko, in NGE, Misato is going to "comfort" Shinji after things had started going wrong. Now, am I mistaken by the dub, as it seemed from the sub, that she was going to...YES!
You see, I think that being offered like that, would totally serve this fan. But this is your topic, you tell me if it qualifies as fanservice. |
