Idk if anyone else gets this but whenever I get a response to a thread, I get about 5 E-Mails regarding the same post*.

an example:

Bemman Wrote:

I remembered this from a couple of years ago so figuring it had to do with the topic...

any help with solutions to this problem would be helpful

I’ve been having this same problem for ages. I always get two e-mails every time a thread is replied to. I believe it’s already been reported, though. I seem to remember a similar thread a year or so ago regarding this.

Go to Profile on the right side of the screen. Scroll down until you see "Always notify me of replies." Is it marked as "Yes" or "No?"

Mine is on "Yes"

The thing is, I do want to be notified, but it would be nice if I was only notified once Anime smile + sweatdrop . It's more of a minor annoyance than a big problem for me, though. Even if it was never fixed, it wouldn't trouble me too much.

I have that problem as well, but its not as horrible (for me) as you make it seem.
What I do, is put all my topic reply notifications in a separate folder (most email services have this feature nowadays), then when I want to go through them, I click the first one, check it, then hit the delete button twice, so it gets rid of that extra one that gets sent to you. I have trouble just forgetting to uncheck the box (notify of replies) for just a simple post, then every post in a topic, including the ones totally unrelated, sends two messages to my inbox. Go through the notifications and check whether you really need to watch the topic. I started doing this once I had 54 topic reply notifications. Problem, yes. Solution...maybe not completely, but yes.

I agree with all the above, for me it wouldnt be so annoying if i'd get 2 emails at once, but thats just the thing: i get them at different times so that I'm always like "COOL, got another email.." which is not the case, it's a duplicate of the old. If you get replies for more than one post its impossible to keep track. now thats annoying Evil or Very Mad

I asked this question before the server crash, and got a response form Tempest after the new one was up.

T. suggested I click on the stop watching thread link. I didn't. As it seems to be a time issue. If I don't look at the topic within about 5 minutes, a new email is sent.

What further gets under my skin is how each new post in a topic generates a new email, even my own posts.

What I do is look at the last 4 digits of the link in my email, if the numbers are identical, I delete the second message.

Yeah I don't even use the email reply anymore. If I want to see if anyone has replied to a post I just log in and go to the Anime News Network Forum Index screen and scroll to the bottom. There is a link that says view your posts it does an ego search and any post that you written to will turn up brown.

My only question is how long do these stay that way because I do notice after a while they will turn back to white even if you don't click them.
