Booyah! Buso Renken is great! This fall is shaping up to be an awesome season with both Buso and Deathnote.

Whats wrong with Pierrot? Anyways, it looks like XEBEC is doing the animation.

Am I the only one who's really shocked?
So is this the first cancelled Jump series ever to be animated? Very very odd.

More Alchemic Weapons, or Alchemic Weaponry, actually. Why is there still such confusion about this anyway? The term appears in the manga, and refers definitely to the weapons that the characters use. The busou renkin. Simple.
I'm still waiting for the official confirmation of this, anyway. ANS does not mention its sources, but I think this can all ultimately be traced back to some poster on 2ch. Who is possibly a ninja.
According to this original post, the voice cast is identical to that of the Drama CD, which will be released this week. I'm curious about this.

This will be a great anime, considering its made by the same director who made kenshin. kenshin is my favourite anime.

When I checked out the ANN homepage this was the last thing I expected, but it definitely makes my day. I'm really excited about this because Watsuki is one of my favorite mangaka and now he's got another one of his series in the works for anime. Although, since it's a cancelled series, I wonder what the studio is going to do about the story?

Hmmm, although I have a great deal of respect for Watsuki-san's work, this really sounds far too much like FMA, what with the homunculi and all. In fact, I wonder if FMA's success had something to do with the fact that this is being adapted even though the manga was cancelled.
Oh well, here's hoping it doesn't come out looking like a cheap ripoff.

For those that haven't read the manga, this is nothing like FMA, so please knock it off until you've read or seen the series.

On the other hand, all Kenshin fan, prepare to be disappointed as Buso Renkin is a pretty weak and mildy entertaining. Poor rating cause the title be cancle and that's too bad for watsuki. It's all hype.

Whether you will be disappointed or not greatly depends on your expectations.
Busou Renkin is a lot sillier than Kenshin. The manga has a number of moments where it looks quite like a parody of shounen manga.
Such as Tokiko being annoyed at Kazuki: "Why are you shouting out your attack names?!"
I can totally appreciate this, personally.
As for the FMA thing, I'm really quite sick and tired of hearing this again and again from people who hear "alchemy" and "homunculus" and immediately say "rip-off".
The two manga have nothing to do with each other, entirely different atmospheres... other interpretations of "alchemy".
This should become obvious after the first chapter. The blurb alone. I don't know.

FMA,so yeah. but w/ Buso Renkin only being 10 Volumes I might,Ha..being a huge Watsuki-Sensei and RuroKen fan, I'll most likely get it,..Yay! more money for Watsuki! (has almost completed RuroKen..waiting for 27 and 28!)

Busou Renkin probably has more in common with Bleach than it does with FMA. Seriously.
Blargh, y'know, I should just go back and edit the plot summary on the encyclopedia page, shouldn't I? I was the one who originally submitted that, and that back when there was only two volumes out and therefore very little to work with...

Why was it cancelled in the first place?
The illustrations remind me of Bleach, but the description does sound familiar with FMA (as mentioned before because of Alchemy and Homunculus). Sounds meh.

Ok, I'll explain.
BR was cancelled a while back because it had been getting very low ratings in Weekly Jump (which was because it is very boring if you read 1 chapter a week...). After the series had been cancelled, the manga had became quite popular once the tankos got released. Too bad there won't be anymore...However, now with an anime, it might have a better end (Although I doubt it since it isn't very long and the series will probably be 26 episodes...).
ALSO, BR ISN'T EVEN COMPARIBLE TO FMA!! Think Death Note and Bleach. They both deal with shinigami and death. Do they compare?
