That's a very...interesting dub cast though I personally think David Wald and Chris Patton should been switched. I've never heard David Wald voice a chararacter who's voice wasn't freakishly deep so this should be interesting if nothing else...

I'm not familiar with this Kyle Colby Jones fella, but at least they didn't give the show to Lil' Stevie.

he directed Kino's Journey and Full Metal Panic. Im not familiar with this show, but Im curious to see if the dub comes out good since its not one of Sentai's usuals (Steven Foster). Maybe this will be a really good dub from Sentai

^ Ah, I see. Those two were really good dubs. Looking at his listing, he also directed the dub for the Gintama movie, which was one of Sentai's better dubs.
Hopefully this'll turn out good then.

Cool! I didn't realize he directed the FMP dub, always loved that dub, and I remember really liking Kino's dub too.

Jones directed two of my favorite dubs, Full Metal Panic and Kanon! His dubs are really naturalistic, which I like a lot. There's not much of the typical "anime voice acting" in his work, AKA "stress the voice a lot and overenunciate everything" which makes it very easy on the ears and engaging!
I wonder what direction he'll take with a larger-than-life, hammy show like this one...

Kyle Jones only directed episodes 6-8 of the first series of Full Metal Panic. Most of that series was directed by Don Rush, who was also one of my favorite ADR directors for ADV (FMP, Azumanga Daioh, and Nanaka 6/17 were all fantastic).

Oh, I did not know that! Props to Don Rush too, then, he is cool!

I really hope this means we will hear more dubs from Kyle Jones. I always really enjoyed his work and he's been one of the most consistent ADR directors in anime. I was very interested in this one, but with Kyle at the helm, I will probably check it out now.

Just a question about how they're announcing who's who in the dub cast for anime in general... why isn't Sentai's unveiling of names with assigned parts uniform across the board? It seems that about every show I see released by Sentai that gets a dub clearly states exactly who-is-who, both major and minor supporting characters, whether in dub cast announcements like this one for Phi Brain or at least the actual credits .... except Penguindrum. They've only *officially* released who the main 4 cast members are (Ringo & the Takakura siblings), with all other VAs having no parts to their name. The names of supporting cast members that one *does* see listed together with their parts on the ANN Encyclopedia are only their because people have pieced together information from pure voice recognition, speculation, instagram photo(s) and the random update to a website. There are still some key players we don't have any confirmation on yet, namely Tabuki and Sanetoshi.
Does Seraphim have some kind of policy when it comes to releasing names of certain people on their dubs? Why the heck would they hold back any kind of information like this? It's not like it's an ecchi title that one doesn't want to be affiliated with...
// Sorry folks, this has been grinding my gears for a while now. Hope that the ADR director for Phi Brain, if he's as good as everyone else seems to be saying, will get more work with Sentai in the future. Because dammit, that place needs more staff diversity, to at least lessen the workload of others there if nothing else.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. He directed the dub of the Gintama Movie and that was a bloody travesty of epic proportions. Only 2 VA's where good in that and they were Chris and Luci. Even they can't save a dub with only 2 good VA's and everyone else of the huge cast sounding crap.

^ Wait, what?
I listened to the Gintama dub, and I thought it sounded fine.
