Sounds like it'd actually be worth my time, unlike most online games. Shame it seems so far off though, although that should only make it a better game

This sounds interesting. There was a source mod called Neotokyo a while back that was basically this. It had 3 classes and had all sorts of interesting guns and abilities, including therm-optic camo in GITS.
It had some neat maps too. If it's anywhere near as cool as that mod was, this should be good. |

A FPS huh? Seems pretty obvious they're trying to target the West with these Ghost in the Shell announcements.

Doesn't surprise me, the west eats shit like this up. The name Ghost in the Shell is enough for people to at least check this out. |

I wonder how if it will be any good. I remember the original Playstation version which i don't think made it to the US..I remember getting to use a intro game through a gaming magazine.
It was fun and easy, but i was disppointed i could get the real thing. |

Is Nexon satirizing itself? Combat Arms wasn't hacky enough for them, they have to introduce a game where 'hacking' is part of the gameplay now?

I have two GiTS SAC games, for the PS2 and PSP. I never got into the PSP game because the controls were annoying due to lack of right analog stick. I believe I finished the PS2 game, but the one thing I remember the most is that the 'hacking' minigame became nigh impossible once you got a certain distance into the game. |

I am skeptical of Nexon's ability to make this anymore than another vanilla Free-2-Play outing in a market that is quickly becoming very competitive. I could be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not getting my hopes up that they can make a game that actually takes advantage of the potential in the GitS franchise.
Time to play more Deus Ex I guess. |

The GitS setting kinda screams "Tactical Shooter", doesn't it? |

Nexon FPSs are all shitty pay-to-win hackfests. If you add cybernetic enhancements it will just be even worse. I was hoping for a REAL game company to make the GITS FPS..
(Combat Arms looks and plays OK...for a couple days, until you run out of the in game currency you need to buy decent guns and equipment) |

I like some Nexon games but I doubt this will be good.
To be fair, almost all of the action in SAC involves people shooting guns. If they didn't make it a shooter I don't think they'd be staying true to the series. |

Powered suits, cyberbrain hacking, and optical camouflage would make it...interesting.
It would need to have a decent fighting system, not just guns. I seriously doubt it will be any different than every other Nexon shooter though. |
