As far as anime titles are concerned only Fire Emblem (Wii) although it only had some cutscenes and Gundam Wing (PS3+360?)have been confirmed for the new consoles (by my sources). Neither of each have a definitve for a Q4 launch but the Gundam Wing game is slated for such (which means it will actually drop in Q1 of 07). Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIIIwas also confirmed for the PS3 but no release info was given. Tales of the Abyss got no serious press but it was also announced. And finally as far as Anime titles (for now) Yug-cough I mean Zatch Bell was announced for the Gamecube but no info on whether it's being ported to the Wii or if its going cross-console.
The PS3 is going to be $500. It comes with a 20GB harddrive and an alternative model is going to be $600. That will come with a 60GB hardrive though. PS3 has obviously bitten from Microsoft and they have between systems stripdowns so its not just a matter of memory. The $500 (which is what most of the world will be able to afford) model will not have a memory stick, or compact flash inputs, Wi-Fi capabilities, or any HDMI output. The PS3 is going to have an online store for music and such and the controler has the same motion features that the Wii's controller had. Plus they got rid of that boomerang . However it won't have a rumble pack. Win-some-lose-some I guess. No price tag for the Wii but we can only pray that they will do the smart thing and go for less than $400. Plus they got showed a new Mario Game and although the messed up the traditon with Mario Sunshine/Gamecube, I'm sure that the new Mario will coincide with the release. Most of this I got from or was able to support with are from Gamespot and the rest I've only just seen on G4. http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3games.html http://www.gamespot.com/news/6149470.html http://www.gamespot.com/news/index.html http://www.gamespot.com/news/6149512.html _____________________________________________________ [Edit: Decided to just put this here] Thanks for the posts first of all. I'm sorry if I miss anything or leave anything out since the news just keeps pouring. Also thanks for the links that Rezsav and Ataru (nice article) provided. And finally why hasn't ANN used any of the info I provided??? I wonder....but anyways Update for anymore anime titles uh lets see: One Piecehas a confirm for the Wii (that's the name of the new Nintendo console btw joel_s95387 ). Its called OP: Unlimted Adventures and its a sfe bet that it won't e going cross-console so add more Wii points for anyone who's still trying to make a decision between the 3. Looks like a third person since they are caliing it an "action-adventure" game. How that will work with the controller who knows? The 2nd Naruto Gameis confirmed for the Gamecube. (LinkWM required). Nothing about it being ported to the Wii but since its slated for a September 2006release it may make the jump the following spring but that's just me guessing. Of course its a 2-4 MP fighter and 23 characters will be available this time. A Gameboy version will also be available but no word on the release for that (that I was able to find ). Finally Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2was announced for the Wii and the PS2. This game will stretch all the way from Raditch from the Saiyan-Saga all the way to the GT Movies. The biggest news of all is that this game will feature 100 playable characters. Thats about all the news I could find for anime titles and feel free to add of course. About the other E3 aspects there's going to be two Tony Hawk games. There's going to be a skater/racer game for the Wii called Downhill Jam. It's going to be like a Crash racing game and its set for Q4 release but I don't know if it will be for the opening lineup for the Wii or not. The other game (and more than likely the better of the two) its TH's Pro Skater 8. Its the same format as the previous but they added more unique animations for the moves but thats it. It's for the 360 but its a definite for the PS3 as well. It may also bactrack for the PS2 and XBOX but not for the GC . Also a sequel for Super Smash Bros. (called Brawl) is confirmed but no videos or images (that I could find). Its also slated for an early 2007 release which IMO is a bad move for the Wii. I mean 360 has Halo3, PS3 has Final Fantasy and more importantly Metal Gear Solid 4 among others, but there are no real headlines (sans the NES to 64 flashback titles announced) for the Wii except Legend of Zelda which IMHO can't measure up to the previous titles in this day and age. SMBB would have added that extra push for hold-overs but maybe they'll try to match dates with Halo3 or something, plus there's a Mario pending. Also Nintendo asked (through the Japanese site only) fans to help determine the playable roster. BTW if anyone can read Japanese please tell them to add Princess Krystal from Starfox Adventures pleaasseee. Anyway new characters announced:spoiler[ Meta Knight from Kirby, Pit from Kid Icarus; a Zero Suit Samus, which will be Samus minus her armor; and Wario no into needed. (PICS)Also announced will be Snake from Metal Gear Solid.] It hasn't been determined if SSB will finally support Wi-Fi support but we can pray can't we. Two major announcements for the Wii by the way. The first is that (through G4) the Wii will most defiently be cheaper than the both the 360 and the PS3 but nothing about whether or not Nintendo will follow suit with the stripped down/fully equipped choice of console that bth Sony and Microsoft have endorsed (this is good). Another BIG announcement for the Wii (especially for Super Smash Bros.) is...drumroll... according to Masahiro Sakurai (a right hand to Shigeru Miyamoto himself since the first Kirby) spoiler[that the Wii will support the old Nintendo Gamecube controller and said this when asked about SMB .] Last of major games for the Wii is a Resident Evil Game (Note not a definitive Resident Evil 5 game). Now Capcom apparently announced that the RE5 game will be strictly for the PS3 and the 360 although RE4 was made exclusively for the GC for about nine months until the PS2 got its port (which IMO wasn't nearly as good). So the Wii will get a RE game but it more than likely be some curde knockoff while Sony and Microsoft get the goods. The Wii will also have another add on (in addition to the control stick as well as the retro controllerthat will support a gun. The gun has been nicknamed The Zapperand has been suggested for games like Duckhunt. Hands-on Link Some 360 news uh there are some more add-ons for the 360. A pedal/steering wheel controllerfor racing games. An external HD-DVD player (availble this holiday season) as well as a deluxe remote control for the system are available as well as the wireless ethernet adapter, the Bluetooth headset, and a wireless receiver, which makes Xbox 360 gear compatible with PCs. It will also have a Xbox 360 Camera and an Xbox Vision, announced. Xbox Vision will have interaction with World Series of Poker, allowing players to watch each other play online. Halo3 fans the plot and premise were revealed today: Link(some spoliers obviously). Not to give away too much (not enough for tags) but basically he lands back on Earth and Cortana says some stuff about "the end of the world" to the Master Chief. Also the video that they showed had the Master Chief toting the original assault rifle so for anyone who missed the original things may be looking out. Some more games announced for Xbox Live (via G4) :Pac-Man, Frogger, Sonic, Defender, Street Fighter II, Time Pilot, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Rally-X, Dig Dug, Ms. Pac-Man, PaperBoy, and Root Beer Tapper. Games announced for the 360 itself (via G4 and others) : Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway Mass Effect NHL 2K7 F.E.A.R. Too Human MotoGP 06 Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II Sonic (unnamed) Madden NFL 07 World Series of Poker Saint's Row WWE SmackDown! Stranglehold Enchanted Arms Test Drive Unlimited NCAA Football 07 Dead Rising Dance Dance Revolution Universe Superman Returns NBA 2K7 Crackdown Ninety-Nine Nights Gears of War Forza Motorsport 2. Dead or Alive to was announced as well but no further news on it; ditto on another Tom Clancy game. (Via G4, Gamespot, and IGN) According to Peter Moore of Microsoft, Grand Theft Auto IV is going to be released October 16, 2007 (thank God there's an actual date this time) to the Xbox 360 first. There will be a dual release for Elder Scrolls IV for the 360 and PC (playable on both Windows XP and the upcoming Windows Vista which will debut this January and PCs will be developed supporting the software the same month) but nothing about a dual release for Halo3 on 360 and PC. Alan Wake will be dual released as well in January and will most likely be a Windows-Vista only release due to the date. Bill Gates has announced that Xbox Live will be available (ie embedded) on PC (Vista Only) nicknamed XBOX Live Anywhere. It will share buddy lists, message center, marketplace and the like. Not limited to PC the XBOX Live Anywhere will extend to mobile phones as well. Link. Peter Moore announced that 160 games will be available by Christmas for the 360 and that eventually television shows will be available through XBOX Live. Back to Nintendo and some Wii Pics. The sensor bar (1 2) was shown today. Pics of the remote(s). There's a trigger button (Z?) underneath it that's not shown. The actual controller with the control stick. The remote plus the control stick plus the retro controller. Finally the remote plus the "Zapper" Gun. Also (Via Gamespot) the names of playable Wii games are as follows: Red Steel Metroid Prime 3: Corruption The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Super Mario Galaxy WarioWare: Smooth Moves Wii Sports (including Golf, Tennis, and Baseball) Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Madden Excite Truck Wii Music Orchestra Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam Sonic Wild Fire (working title) Sonic the Hedgehog (I think its on the bactrack version) Elebits SD Gundam Necro Nesia Final Furlong Bomberman Land SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab Super Monkeyball Banana Blitz Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be a launch title for the Wii and will suprisingly dual release with the Gamecube version of the game. Why, I don't know but I'm not complaining. And finally switching over for Sony news, Call of Duty Will be available on the PSPand that its set to release between October 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006. Wow, so expensive the PS3 is...a $600 pirce tag will probably lean me towards microsoft in this next-gen battle. I'm waiting till Christmas to finally make my decision but I believe the 360 will win in my books.

Anybody watch the trailer for The Wii game RedSteel? I swear they've got some GiTS music in the background there! The game looked sort of cool, too.
SquareSoft looks to be turning into a Hollywood-esque sequel factory. Why don't they focus on the series that actually NEED sequels - Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story and Chrono Trigger |

I'll stick with Nintendo once again personally (I have all nintendo systems). Wii has made me a very good impression, and I was very confused about it at start, never was so confused about a Nintendo console. But finally I can see it in action and it does rock the world. Ninty FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!
The price is close to $250 as far as we know now. It won't surpass $300 for sure. I'm not one that would buy anything because of the low price, but it does matter after all concerning what the system offers too. It's too damn low. PS3 and XBOX360 didn't impress me at all on this generation tbh. |

Not entirely OT. I made sure to open with anime titles first before divulging into other aspects. Plus I asked first. And yea I didn't get a 360 but if the Wii is $300 it gets my money by default because $500 for an incomplete system is wallet homicide. Plus they added a retro controllerfor the old school games.(AMen that they went with the SNES design instead of the original) Now if only they could double up for the main controller, remote, stick...thing. |

Legend of Zelda looks cool, though that's pretty much the only game I'm looking forward too

Correction, the PS3's controller will have a weak imitation of Nintendo's motion sensing technology (as aptly demonstrated by the difficulty the guy playing the Warhawk demo had controlling the plane). In other words, the motion detecting is going to feel a lot tighter with the Wii controller.
I'm a big fan of the PS1 & PS2 (I own 2 PS2s, one for imports), but the Wii currently has more games I'm interested in plus it looks like it'll be anywhere from half the price to a third of the price of the PS3. Heck, if I'm going to spend $600, I figure I'd be better off just upgrading my computer with a new graphics card, some more RAM, and Windows Vista: figure that'd give me at least X-Box 360 levels of power. |

Let me get this out of the way. Sony didn't steal from Nintendo. Even though it looks tack on the last moment, and from what I read was, another company came up with first, I think Logictech, made a PC controller with it. They drop the Duel Shock due to lawsuit, I hope they don't for this. But if anything, Nintendo took the ideal a step foward.

Nintendo released a statement earlier this year stating that Wii will be less than a core model Xbox 360 ($300) my guess is probably at $250, still affordable enough for little kids to bug parents about buying them one, 500 dollars for a PS3 now you would have to bug a WHOLE lot to get that. I had a chance to see the Gundam Demo from last year, and I hoping that the 360 version gets some online play. I mean that what everyone wants, to go out there and blast (and to prove Zaku's power ) some of their friends. OT nonetheless it was a good post with a lot of though and time put into it Shout you! Till next time, Delta Kiral |

Well I look at it more from a viewpoint of corporate tradition. I like doing business, and buying things from a company I trust. I personally have some issues with Sony products, but asside from that I have never had an issue with a nintendo product.
First off has anyone here ever tried to destroy a nintendo its damn near impossible to destroy a nintendo. The dang things just refuse to break. There are still original NES out there still running. Compare that to all the stuff I have seen break, or heard of breaking with xbox, and playstations. Second Nintendo simply has the best in house developers, and they have shown alot of interest in gameplay fundamentals. In other words Mario, Zelda, and such fair are enough to sell me on a nintendo system. Why because they will be damn fun period. Third, cost what will it cost. I would not be shocked if it retailed for under 300 bucks. I would infact not be shocked for it to go for 200 bucks. I am not going to shell out 500 bucks for a console thats going to be obsolete in three years, or less. That to me is just a collosal waste of money. I am far more apt to spend that money on my PC. My PC after all has much more functionality, and I can always buy a new motherboard, and recycle hardware into it. Once a console becomes old hat developers will abandon it. Now that all said I am a bit concerned by the controller for Wii, and a bit more concerned by the less then dramatic statements about visual quality. I watched the demo, and was neither impressed by the graphics. Nor was I all that impressed by the antics the controller seems to make you go through to use it. Will I need a one meter radius to play this system. What if my room dosent accomodate that. Anyway when it comes to gameing for the past few years. I have struck pretty solid to PC gameing, but I am haveing alot of issues that the guys at nintendo mentioned during their press conference. I am sick to death of ungodly load times. Near impossiblity to use gameplay mechanics, and that includes the ridiculous technical specifications. I was also into MMORPGs, but I am finding them all to become rather redundant. A field filled with no options. I think I will give the Wii a chance aslong as it is reasonably priced. On the question of anime related games. I think that the Wii looks like it has enough. The controller looks like it might have some roleplay kind of fun to it. Like maybe the one peice game they had up might have you pull back and swing your arm like luffie. Personally I do not think anime, and console gameing arent a good match. Until there is a serious anime mmorpg out there. To get a good anime gameing experience I think you have to have a very deep world with some complex in game mechanics. Simply smashing a anime skin on a engine dosen't really translate any of the experience of the anime. |

I haven't been watching on G4 or looked up any sites, but I look forward to the next issues of EGM and GameInformer.
It's been a while since I even looked at the "console war". When was the name changed from "Nintendo Revolution" to "Wii"? It took me a while to figure out what the hell "Wii" was. As for me, I play it safe. I don't mind waiting a couple of years while all the bugs are removed from the first couple of systems, and a price drop helps too. I was thinking of a PS3, but at $600, no thank you. I don't need a Blu-Ray player that badly and I'm pretty sure college will have something to say about me spending so much time on video games. 3 more years until I major in English... I'll be quite busy while I wait. |

I've been RSSing, downloading trailers and the keynotes. I did catch about half of G4 coverage last night and they are doing about the same as last year, decent. The bodies with the computer monters do freak me out though. FLCL anyone? |

Was thinking most likely would have to wait until TGS, I thought there might be a chance for an E3 annoucement since the series is gaining a decent following in US throught the Cartoon Network airings and might be a draw for some people to Wii. Thanks for the info Ataru. |
