okay I want to point out that I love dragon warrior/quest and I'm really looking forward to this port. However why doesn't any mention this franchise when people talk about Square-Enix??

It's nowhere near as popular in the west as the Final Fantasy games.

It's traditional in these sorts of RPGs to set them in a fairytale version of the European Middle Ages, all the way back to when Wizardry* was first imported into Japan.
And, of course, Caucasians look more like cartoon characters than Japanese folk do.**
[*] Which game was also ultimately responsible for the existence of Animeigo.
[**] Yes, it's a joke.

Really hope this comes over to NA, but what I wouldn't give for a console version.

It took me a while to realize the characters were speaking Spanish. Traditional Spanish dialects just sound so different to me.
