Reminds me of Tweeny Witches. That was a mixed bag, but had some really great design elements, as a magic world should.

Animation looks nice and sharp. I hope the end product is of the same calibre as Inferno Cop (obviously with better technical elements), which I notice is still not in ANN's encyclopaedia.

How many flash youtube videos are in ANN's encyclopedia? Its only known over here because its a meme.. Most Japanese anime fans don't even know what it is.

I actually can't wait for this. Tweeny Witches-style with a new story? Sign me up! I always love a good witch-oriented show where the witches actually DRESS like witches. Also wasn't there another witch-related show coming out this year as well? Or have I mistaken that for this? I remember here on ANN, there was a preview a few months back with a new witch-related series/movie/ova? It had Ghibli-quality animation and I remember everyone raving about it, but I just can't for the life of me find it anywhere, or remember it's name...

You're thinking of Majocco Shimai no Yoyo to Nene! It's a movie by Ufotable that's coming out. Here's the trailer you were talking about. I'm really excited about it too. I love cute witches!

Yes! Thank you so very much! I'm looking very forward to these. Wow, now that I think about it, 2013 really is the year for witch animes! Witchcraft Works, Little Witch Academia, and now Majocco Shimai no Yoyo to Nene! I honestly think this will be a very fun year.

Maybe THE DOKES did have an influence, on making witches popular subject matter. Earnest magical girls are already well covered by the PreCure series, and the upcoming Sailor Moon.

Yeah, this made me think of Tweeny Witches too, loved that show, nice to see it's still getting talked about
