Monogatari 2nd Season....Which is the 1st season? Bakemonogatari or Nekomonogatari?
The chronological order, afaik, is:
Nekomonogatari (Black) Bakemonogatari Nisemonogatari Final - Tsuki, Owari, Zoku So this 2nd season, covering Neko (white) to Koi, is it a prequel to Bake or a sequel? Where does it fit in with the list above? |

The order is pretty much:
Season 1 Bakemonogatari Kizumonogatari Nisemonogatari Nekomonogatari (Black) Season 2 Nekomonogatari (White) Kabukimonogatari Hanamonogatari Otorimonogatari Onimonogatari Koimonogatari Season 3 Tsukimonogatari Owarimonogatari Zokuowarimonogatari Only Tsukimonogatari has been released in season 3, and the anime is due to cover the rest of season 2 in one go, based off of the PV, and previous comments indicate it could be 26 episodes. As for the chronological order, it runs: Kizumonogatari Nekomonogatari (Black) Bakemonogatari Nisemonogatari Nekomonogatari (White) And from there it continues on matching the previous list. Nice timing!!! And to think I just decided to finish both Bakemono&Nisemonogatari 2 weeks ago. A very good show!! Hope it'll be >20 ep. so that it can cover anything like "irrevilent" said above!!

Gah! I'm only on episode 8 of Bakemonogatari. So I would watch the remainder of that, then season 2, then watch Nisemonogatari even though Nise released first? Or do I watch season one of Bake, then nise, then this Season 2 that is just coming out? And is Season 2 of Bake, including this new Neko that I hear of? Man I'm confused lol.

For those confused, just stick to the order that the seasons aired in. But the plot is not so advanced that you will be lost if you watch Nisemonogatari first instead. The seasons consist of self-contained arcs for the most part. It's not like if you watch the wrong season you will be completely lost. You might be missing a few key plot points but hey, that's par for the course with Monogatari especially since the first installment of the story is still in studio limbo. So you will have questions no matter which order your choose until that movie comes out.

If I remember right Nisemono was something Ishin wrote as a bit of self-indulgence and never really intended it to get published. And leave it to Shinbo to reciprocate and revel in that excess when the TV version came around.
No dates yes, but I'm guess it'll be no earlier than the fall. |

Watched Nekomonogatari (Kuro) yesterday on TV (though I missed the first 20 minutes
 ) and it was great! I was reminded of what a great character Araragi kun is. It was nice to see Oshino and Shinobu again too.
Friend came to Japan and brought along the Bakemonogatari BD set that I bought. Will need to watch those character commentaries soon. PS Happy new year! I'm tellin' ya, the New Years countdown in the States is sooooooo much more exciting than in Japan. |

We have Nekomonogatari Black, Kizumonogatari and all the ones that cover the second season. |

Kizumonogatari has not been given a release date. In fact, the official site removed the "2012年" portion of the movie announcement today. We do not know if it will be screened in 2013 or not, so it is incorrect to include it in your list. |

That's not correct Kizu, Bake, Nise and Neko Kuro are all "Season 1". |
