Man, that's sad. I was never a big fan of his, but he was consistent enough that I remembered his voice, name, and other aliases whenever I heard them.

My condolensces.

My first encounter with Mr. Papenbrook's voice was as Lafarga in Magic Knight Rayearth. Ever since then I've always been able to really recognize his voice. And yes, he always did a consistanly good job. I'll miss hearing his voice on future anime.

My deepest condolences to his family and his friends.

Holy shit. I can't believe this is happening. Wow. That really sucks. He had a great voice. LA has lost a great voice actor. My condolences to his friends and family.

Being a fan of Heat Guy J, I am saddened by the news of this loss. Papenbrook did a wonderful job playing J in the series. He will be missed.

Ya know I have never seen any of the anime he was a main character in, but Shadow hearts Covenant is one of my favorite video games and this guy played the baddy Rasputin in it. 50...huh...thats a young age to go.

Like areaseven, I was a fan of the dub for Heat Guy J. His performance in the show was one of the best and fitted the character immensely. I'm missing him for all that he has done to anime and his accomplishments.

Save for Heat Guy J, I'm not familiar with Bob Papenbrook's work; but by reading his list of credits and the prior posts on this thread, the L.A. dub community lost one of their better actors.

My condolences to the Bob Papenbrook family and friends, most especially to his son Bryce, who's also a voice actor.

He'll be very hard to replace when the second season/movie of Heat Guy J comes out (if it ever does happen).

I can't believe it:(. I was a big fan of his, and I was always excited to hear his voice in any anime I watch (Heat Guy J and Wolf's Rain were the two I remember most). My prayers go out to him and his family.

My condolences to his family/friends. Quite a loss... His defining role to me was J in Heat Guy J. He did a tremendous service to the anime dubbing community and at least his work will live on (with DVDs and such...)

He will be missed.
