Please stop comparing everything Lupin to Cagliostro. Because it's not what Lupin is normally like, since Miyazaki softened him up. And it's not fair to the animators of the other Lupin movies.

Right, but of all the people who have ever seen Lupin, a huge majority of them have only seen Cagliostro. If I'm going to compare Lupin to something, I might as well use a title that more people have heard of.

Well those are the old-school fans. The new-school fans are getting into Lupin because of the tv show and the FUNimation movies, which are closer to the manga, and less like Cagliostro. So you should review each Lupin based on their own individual appeal(or lack thereof).

I think Shelf life accurately described the picture on the coverbox. The coverbox should tell the customer what the show is like. With a picture like that, it kinda turns some people off.

mollo: Blame Pioneer on the cover. They have no taste, which is why they licensed Tenchi.

Oh, and one more thing. City Hunter is not a cop show. It's a detective show. There's a difference.

Hmm... good point. I'll take your advice on the Lupin one; thanks.
Yeah, City Hunter is a detective, but it doesn't feel like a detective show at all, and feels more like a cop show. But I guess that was very misleading and an unthought-out comment. Thanks, again.

Lupin's most favored animator was and will always be Miyazaki, not just due to his movies, but due to his involvement on the Lupin tv shows. It may not be what monkey punch intended, but Miyazaki formed what we know of Lupin, as a noble thief, but not too noble, he still needs to make a living.
