Did anyone by chance get to see the spinoff OVA of Excel Saga called Puni Puni Poemy? It's about this girl named Kobayashi who lives with her parents (?) (Nabeshin's the daddy!), but they get killed in like the first five minutes of the movie (by an alien that has his balls sticking out of his pants). She then moves in with the 7 Aasu sisters, ranging from ages 3 to 27. What she doesn't know, for one thing, is that the second youngest sister (who is also her classmate, age 10) wants to have a lesbian relationship with her, the guy she has a crush on is a octopus alien who is a fanatic about hentai games, and she is destined to discover the secret of the Dead Fish to become Puni Puni Poemy (based on Sailor Moon)! All while trying to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a voice actress.
This movie is I don't know if you would call it funny, but is definetly aimed at a mature audience (released by ADV, rated +17). There are also a lot of references to older anime. The best part I thought about the movie was actually the commentary, because you get to hear certain things you didn't hear in the movie (Like two people making noise while they're f*****g in the background!). It was actually funnier, too.
Did anybody see this? If so, I'd like to hear you're oppinion.....

While I haven't seen Excel Saga I have seen Puni Puni Poemy and I only laughed a few times during the whole thing so I'm not sure if I'd like Excel Saga.

Most (and fortunately only) retarded spinoff of Excel Saga. I can't believe they made the kind of OVA that would make American shows gasp in surprise with the amount of sexual content. The worst thing is, it wasn't even funny. It's a degradation to relate Excel Saga to Puni Puni Poemy.
I definitely recommend watching Excel Saga.

PPP is kind of like the last episode of Excel Saga, except possibly even crazier. I personally liked it. There are a lot of inside jokes and cultural references in it, but unfortunetly only half of them were explained in the comentary. I'm kind of dissapointed that they didn't include any cultural notes on this DVD since I'm sure there's still a bunch I missed.

No, and I don't think I ever will. I think I read in Animerica that this was anything but funny, it really sucked and that you're better off laughing at Excel Saga.

I saw Puni Puni Poemy a few years ago. Not knowing what to expect I rented it and I thought it was pretty good. Definitely weird and crazy, but it was funny, I liked it.

A friend burnt me a copy, but I've yet to seen it. I watched the first part and it was not my kind of anime. I like to watch serious things... Gungrave, Blue Gender, Texhnolyze, Gunslinger Girl... so this was something I didn't enjoy. I have nothing to do right now, I finished my college HW and the [as] line up kinda sucks IMO, so I think I'll watch the rest of it. Maybe it'll change my mind about the series. I haven't seen Excel Saga yet cause I don't really like Japanese Anime Humor, I just don't find it funny.
Added like 2 hours later...
I finished watching the whole thing... I only laughed when the guys were putting each others balls on their chins. I like the JoJo's Bizzare Adventure parody though. I just don't like Japanese humor. The people doing it behind the tree, and infront of the building, wasn't even funny to me either. I'm not saying anyone is stupid for laughing, it's just I have a different sense of humor.
