I just have a quick question. Does the Platinum Thinpak of Eva contain any nudity (I mean nipples not just silloets). I own the manga and I know that does. My parents won't let me get it because any anime I buy, my 12 year old brother will want to see too. Also if it doesn't, do you know where i could buy it at the cheapest price? Amazon was selling it for around $50 and that's the cheapest I saw it.

The DC episode have nipples drawn on. The rest of the series is Barbie nudity.

By DC you mean Director's Cut right? Oh, and does the Platinum have the Director's Cut in it. If so, what episodes are they?

There's also an off-screen sex scene in one episode.

Yes, the Platinum edition (singles and thinpak) has the Director cut episodes 21-24 (as well as the On Air versions), that's one of the reasons why ADV re-released Evangelion as the Platinum Edition.

The platnium thinpack has the original episodes and DC episodes. The TV episodes have nudity to an extent, but it isnt very detailed. The DC episodes were made to help viewers understand the movies that were made. Nudity is more fluent/detailed in the DC episodes. There is also some vulgar language added to the DC episodes.

off screen being the key term here. If they can't see it, it won't harm them! (i always liked that rule when living with mom and dad...)

Director's Cut episode 23 is the only one with nudity in it. You also see butts in episodes 2,5, and DC22. Otherwise, it's nothing.

It should be noted that DC24 has a shot of Asuka in a run-down bathtub with her bits and pieces just barely covered by her mair and murky water.

Even without nudity, there is enough graphic violence, innuendo, and disturbing thematic elements in Evangelion to give most parents of 12 year-olds a pause. It's not that I don't think someone that age couldn't handle it; I think I was 14 when I first saw the show but I didn't have the emotional or intellectual maturity to appreciate and understand it like I do six years later.
