I personally have watched anime for the past 4 years and occasionally I have seen hentai, very few times. So here in lies my (hypothetical) question...
Does watching anime make you more likely to watch/enjoy hentai? Let me clarify on my question though, A person starts of watching anime and they despise hentai, they find it disgusting. Yet the more they watch anime (whatever kind) the more they are convinced that hentai is not so bad. I my self have fallen to this, I see hentai and it does not seem odd anymore, that two drawings are having sex. I still do not watch hentai at all, but I do watch porn. So basically is there a direct correlation to watching anime and then wanting to watch hentai, maybe even over porn? This question also applies to people who only watch hentai, becasue then this rule may not apply. So if this "rule" doesn't apply is it just that you like to see something different that you cannot see in "real life"? I can understand why this applies to males because men are visually stimulated whereas women are emotionally stimulated. (sexually speaking) Oh and keep the Bull Shit out of this topic I want to know what eveyone thinks, don't derail this topic. (as I do with so many others...hehe..ahem) |

Sigh. I'm sure everyone will be rushing in here with all their technical mumbo jumbo so I'll leave something short.
How can there not be a direct relationship between anime and hentai. Hentai is just anime with sexual content. If you like anime and you like porn, you're not going to say hentai is bad. Or maybe you think anime characters killing each other is ok but having sex is disgusting. You can have some kind of hentai fetish where you only watch hentai and avoid anime. There's no "rule" for people in general. You haven't actually said anything of your own opinion. You started the thread and asked some questions, but that's pretty much it. |

Well hypothetically I guess it could. Let me explain. With the number of anime being infected with the ecchiness and rapid growth of it I would not be surprised if I found myself watching a hentai. So basically thats it for me.

I used to find hentai more than a little disturbing... Then, as I watched more anime and discovered voice actors/actresses that I liked, I got slightly curious as to what they might sound like making sex noises.
And it all went downhill from there. It's still mainly an audio thing for me, but the more I watch the more I start to like the video. |

I know what you mean, because at first I was really put off by hentai. Mostly because way back when I was still naive I thought it was all monster and tentacles and stuff. Now I know how far from the truth that is, since there is hentai where there is actual love involved. However, now I really have no problem with either, although I don't think i'll ever bring myself to watch monster/tentacle hentai (or at least watching a show that I know contains it.) Who knows, maybe that will change too.

I'll admit, when I first started watching anime, I was completely opposed to hentai, because animated sex seemed just so sick and wrong, but over time, I warmed up to the idea. . .recently, I watched Bible Black just on the grounds that it's one of the most famous hentai series, and my reaction, to quote a random character from BB's dub, was "oh, this is sa bad!" Since then, I've checked out a couple others, but 99% of the time, the ero scenes inspire laughter or
 , and not their intended reaction from me.
I'll confess, I do look at/read porn, but I prefer to keep those fantasies grounded in the real world. Hentai will just be another sector of the anime world to get acquainted with, and only the ones with some semblance of plot--no bizarre fetishism, either. |

well my very first known encounter with Anime was when I moved into my new apartment(I had to leave my last...personal reasons) and I found in the back of a cupboard a shoebox(obviously left by the previous owner) filled with DVD's he had recorded.
I put in one just to see what was on them and up came Cool Devices, it was in japanese with no subs at all so had no idea what was going on but I thought it was hilarious...after a while I found that it was actually quite...arousing...but I was turned away by the large amounts of bondage etc in several of that series. none the less I went out to the only anime/manga shop I knew of in town to look around, not neccessarily buy anything but just to look, and there were allsorts of other series and genres I had no idea existed. so its the otherway round for me, hentai came first, then anime from that. |

When I first started watching anime, I thought hentai and all porn in general was disgusting and I didn't want to have anything to do with it. Even brief nudity in non-ecchi titles disturbed me, but overtime I got used to the idea that animated characters could be nude and be engaged in sexual intercourse with each other. I started watching some series that were a little more ecchi than others but still not hentai and overtime I suppose you can say I've become "desensitized" to it. Nowadays I still don't watch hentai anime mainly because I can't find anything that's appealing to me, but hentai and porn in general doesn't bother me much anymore. I even occassionally look at porn and hentai doujinishi online sometimes. I just don't download hentai movies or buy the DVDs because I haven't found one yet that looks interesting to me.

well, i can't say that i've really been exposed to alot of "real" porn..however, im not going to lie, i've seen an unusual amount of hentai, most likley due to the fact that going in and out of girlfriends, they seem a lot less bothered by the hentai than they are by the sight of real porn.
also, it is just basically anime with a little (ok a lot) more sexual content; some of them have very good storylines actually. actually, i really dont watch either alot, though i've sen alot, i don't go and make a habit out of it. i've got better things to do (like watch anime >_>) |

One of my favorite anime of all time just so happens to be Urotsukidoji, which is one of the most (in)famous hentai ever created........although its more horrifying than arousing.
That should pretty much show how I feel about hentai.

I watch anime and personally I hate hentai. It's just messed up. I mean, I watch porn because their humans. Watching cartoons is just...wierd. Hentai is even more frowned upon then anime. In grade 8 this guy at my school brought in disney hentai and he became the laughing stock.

I have no interest in porn in any form now so I have no interest in hentai. Fanservice for the sake of it make me cringe.

Hmm, I never found hentai disgusting and wrong compared to real porn. I kind of accepted it from the beggining. Anime did kind of get me into it, but it didn't really help me accept it though since I did from the start. I don't really watch hentai actually. But I'm not afraid to admit that I do look at doujinshi and play ero games as well as going to 4chan which is full of that stuff, both real and animated. Some of the times it's funny sometimes it's just disgusting and sometimes it's both. I do have some odd fetishes but I'm definately not going to mention what they are nor do I think you'd want to know. Basically, I don't see animated porn any worse then real porn. Actually, it's better IMO with it expanding the possibilities of what you are able to do.

there is a very, very fine line between normal, run-of-the-mill anime hentai and freaking DISNEY hentai, if i could just point that out...
