If you're getting a Wii U, then it doesn't matter since it's backwards-compatible.
Just make sure you have a Nunchuk & Wii Remote w/ Wii Motion Plus handy;
neither the Wii U Game Pad or Wii U Pro Controller will work with Wii games.

Awesome, but I wouldn't expect to put all the pieces together in what games are first and last. That's another discussion which chimes a lot of interesting info. I'm almost tempted to buy this.

The timeline was leaked ages ago, and it was a complete list of all of the games in chronological order.

Well, if you're keen on getting this....or even if you aren't.... yeah, try getting & playing Skyward Sword for your Wii. Or at least, get a backwards-compatible Wii U (which you should be able to transfer most-all of your Wii data to, btw) to play it on. Hyrule Historia is definitely going to go over the story/history laid out in Skyward Sword, so you'll surely get some stuff spoiled to you if you read that first.

They posted a trailer for an encyclopedia? *sigh*
Just how hyper and unfocused are kids these days that they have to see a youtube video before they go buy a book?

It's a good way of generating word of mouth. Even many novels have trailers nowadays because it's effective.

That might be true but are folks still debating it even though they got it. If you could give me a link I wouldn't mind looking at a comprehensive breakdown. It was some years ago that GT did a retro just before Twilight Princess, so I'm curious to see where that fits before the whole Skyward Sword deal.
