I was just wondering how many of you would play a Naruto MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) if someone made one.

Surely! I'm sure they could come up with a cool game. There are so many different types of ninjas and ninja techniques. That would be an awesome game.
When you start the game you could be a cadet and as you go up in level you can progress up in rank first becoming a genin, then a chounin, then a jounin, then senin and finally a hokage. This game would rawk!

I posted this because even though I'm only 16, seems kind of stupid but I've been creating one on a piece of paper for like a month. My friend says its a stupid idea and you would get like no one to play it so I'm just doing this because if I really get serious and actually do wanna try and make one I wanna see just how many people would play it.

It specifically depends upon the gameplay. It does not matter if it's Naruto. Or if the characters from Naruto are in the game.
What matters is if the game is good. Is the game fun. What about the graphics. The controls. The options. How long is it. The flow of the story. Those are important questions. Because Anime games are not know for being good games. Anime games are usually pretty horrible. But fans of anime will probably buy it any way because they are mindless slaves to the the franchise even though the game isnt that good.
So it really depends on you and how you design it.

I don't wanna burst your bubble but mmorpgs require hundreds of engineers, artists and designers to make and it would take them 2 or more years. And even if you had this team of hundreds of people you still need permission from the creators of Naruto.
I know this because I am a programmer at Ubisoft in Montreal Canada.
However, that doesn't mean you can't participate on one. Just study hard and eat your veggies and stuff.

I know I can't do it by myself. What I mean by creating one is like, gameplay, interface, moves, gameplay, like here is an idea I had which is probably an obvious one, your race is basically which village you come from and that gives you your basic move sets.

You'd prolly make millions, If yes you went through it. As long as. It doesnt horribly suck. Now adays your finding almost everyone and their pet dog are playing MMORPG's. I'd prolly even play even though im a hardcore Wow and FF11 hater.
Just make it good. Good graphics. See ya in 3 years.

Plenty of people would play it, including myself, but a MMORPG is a massive undertaking. Have fun playing with the idea though.

It'd probably be more popular in Japan at first, at least while Nar'do was popular there.
As for playing it myself...
It all depends. I mean, if it captured effectively the parts of the show that I enjoy, then, yes, I would be interested.
But the nature of Naruto isn't necessarily compatible with an RPG system.
Re: some character are simply more powerful than others, and have abilities which others cannot have, regardless of age, experience, and the like. Under any fair system, a character with a "bloodline limit" would have otherwise reduced possibilities, or reduced abilities in other areas, whereas within the world of Naruto, the opposite is true, which is to say that those with "bloodline limits" would have much higher ability scores.
So, in short... It could be very hard to balance. For example, if Sakura is a PC, then where are her abilities? Or rather, the Sakura PC would begin with just as many points, generally, to spend on abilities as a Sasuke PC. While the Sasuke PC uses their points to buy feats such as "Uchiha Ancestry" and "Sharingan Potential" (which could rise by level, beginning with something of little practical value such as "ability to see in the dark" and rise according to level,) and would still have to have a lot of points to buy up abilities which make them the strongest of that group; the Sakura PC would put a lot of points into the ability of Intelligence, but as she has no "bloodline limit" she is naturally weaker.
Balance is essential in any RPG. If you don't have any kind of balance, then you will infuriate the player base and alienate possible consumers because you are constantly striving for balance.
The world of Naruto is not a world in which balance is obvious; rather, some who are strong, are strong, and some who are weaker, are weaker, and there is no way in which it can be argued effectively to simply translate that world to a game without either providing an incredible range of experiences in which any and all skills would be useful (alienating players who wish to play relatively alone, or solve as many problems as they can on their own) or make only a very slim range of skills useful, and suffer the rest.
The planning, at this stage, should be based on a standard systems model. Once you've worked out every eventuality, then you could perhaps, perhaps, approach a software company and the licence holder.

I would probably play. I've never thought of one, but it seems like it would be worth looking at.
I've always wanted them to make a pokemon mmorpg, where you travel the world catching pokemon, fight gym leaders and other trainers, and group up with friends to fight much harder pokemon. I'd totally play that, even though the show got boring fast I think a game would be cool.
