Do you folks know what I'm talking about?
Well, it's a concept that I've had for years, and I think others have thought about it as well, but it seems companies aren't bothered or willing to do it. You know how many anime series out there have radio drama(s), each of which cast the original seiyuu that were present in the anime series. I do really want to listen and understand these drama series, which were broadcasted in Japanese radio (then later released on disc). Thus it would be fantastic if they had the corresponding English cast from the anime series record a translated version of the drama script. Yes, yes, yes, everyone will be screaming at me now: "Well, just learn Japanese then, come back, listen and understand the drama shows!" Indeed that is one of the best ways to go about it, and also very long too. One of the reasons why I think this idea hasn't been ventured upon is because there isn't a large enough fanbase for radio dramas, and moreso; there aren't enough English dub/cast fans for this case. I'm a huge fan of seiyuu, and I also like English seiyuu (or as people call; VAs). So I'd love to see this be implemented in at least a few series, e.g. Onegai Teacher, Ai Yori Aoshi, Mahoromatic. If there was such thing as English translated/recorded anime radio dramas on CD, then I'm sure I would've bought lots already. |

The only thing of that sort that I know was translated was a fansub of a facetious, non-canonical NGE audio drama (it's done as a video.) I can't remember where to find it, though.
I'd also like to know the answer to your question... I feel like I'm missing out on parts of series I like. |
