Or more like no-one watched these episodes, and if they did they couldn't care.
I didn't watch these seven episodes. But even if I had I doubt I would have agreed with Carlo. Right from the start he's liked the show's action and the mythological background, both of which I thought were poorly done. From the three episodes of the show I did watch, the pacing was atrocious (especially in - but not limited to - the first episode), the action was boring and unexciting, and the plot was completely muddled and without any sense or logic. If we disagreed on those episodes we probably would have disagreed on the other ten (had I watched them).

i watched the whole thing. wasn't great, but it was amusing. the mythology lessons were interesting and eventually it became one of the few reasons I continued watching

I watched this whole show as well. It wasn't great or anything, but I found it amusing enough in a popcorn-entertainment fashion to finish it up. I will agree that the action scenes were VERY well done. The last battle got me legitimately excited to the point where I was on my feet in my living room cheering at the TV.

I am not sure that Carlo is right about "educational" aspect, even though his has disclaimer about it being occasional.
The problem is that the mythology in this show is so messed up, made up and perverted -- for the sake of "unexpected revelations" -- that the only thing that this show does is actually tampering to viewers' education, however small it could be.
It is somewhat similar to Hollywood "Greek mythology" films -- none of which really follows actual Greek mythology, but rather bastardises it, cheapens with typical Hollywoodish hero/anti-hero cliche. Actual Greek mythology is incredibly more deep, and thought-provoking than this superficial, dumbed down version that Hollywood has of it.
This show has mythologies even more distorted than that. However, to be fair, it has to be said that sometimes those distortions are complex enough to not be seen as dumbed down versions of anything. Just made up and messed up.

The fight scenes were indeed nicely animated, but the mixing of the mythologies was quite a mess. I liked the kissing gimmick with the magic in general, but that scene was the most ridiculous and disturbing thing I have seen. The saving grace of the show was Liliana, the middle episodes around her were the best. She is one of the biggest and best tsunderes of the year. The ending also was quite ordinary, DakaraH had a much more unexpected and interesting conclusion.

I'm baffled that you gave this a better review than Fate/Zero when Campione! is a clear knock off of the Fate franchise.

That's a good point. Fate/ZERO is way better, as it doesn't have Harem antics while being far better than Campione! in music, animation, action scenes, characters and story.

I couldn't help but facepalm the first time I saw the main characters attack.. it was such an obvious combination of Gilgamesh and Archers noble phantasms.
But overall yeah, this is no where near the level of anything Fate. Its a below average action show with some cute girls.

Sigh.
walw6pK4Alo's point was that a field of golden blades had been done before and that Campoine! was borrowing from Gilgamesh.
He did not say that you are not allowed to like the field of golden blades in Campione!.
