WOW, this series can't get her fast enough. It looks to blow the original series out of the water. Anyone who has read the manga should agree with me.

HA! 22 seconds of film.
9 seconds of that are dark, although some of that darkness does have music.
3 seconds is the Geneon logo.
Pure, unadultered roflskates.

Well, i didn't like that ad very much but, as long as they focus alot on Alucard and his coolness/insanity this series will be alot better than the TV series..

What the snacks? I use roflcopters, I dunno about you...
Yeah, this looks really slick and prettyful and all that jazz. Provided it sufficiently follows the manga it's going to be awesome.

...You haven't read Hellsing, have you? He's the main protagonist but it's not going to focus just on him.
And he's not insane either.
BTW, why did you guys get the date wrong again? It's out on the 10th of February, not the 6th.

Damn...then it's not just me.
The clip posted on Geneon's site is smaller (in resolution) and lower quality than the TV-rip version that showed up a couple of days before they posted it. It also doesn't work for me, exactly like you said. =/ Maybe because it's streaming? Streaming video never, ever works properly for me.
Breakdown of the clip:
Dripping blood with Japanese text (kanji with furigana)
Bloody bayonet (more text)
Integral at her desk
Seras loading her Harkonnen
Seras punching a ghoul
Anderson throwing bayonets
Alucard regenerating with a bunch of bats

Hey, as long as they keep to the same musical styles they used in the anime, I'll be happy as a clam. The show was ok, but the music... man that was awesome. (IMHO)[/quote]

The music will be more along the line of an orchestral thing, from the looks of it. Hopefully, considering the size and budget of this series, the music is made with the actual scenes and such in mind, not the standard anime route of "make some songs, some music, hope it fits"

Well, sorry, but they're not. We've known that since the project began. Hayato Matsuo is composing the score and from what I've heard of it so far, it's orchestral and industrial.

As much as the first sound track rocked, I'm also anxious to hear Matuso-san's work, as I feel he did a great job in Street Fighter Alpha. I hope Geneon will release the OSTs domestically in the U.S. like they did the first two as well. Gotta' start reading the manga soon, too ...

You must read it!!
Yeah, I loved the TV series OST too. But it isn't right for the manga/OVA...at least, anything after the first 2 volumes. The mood is different. It's more epic.
Jazz and rock worked great for the TV series, but it wouldn't work for, say, the scene on the HMS Eagle with Rip van Winkle, where she sings opera and quotes Weber's Der Freischütz. And it wouldn't work for London being utterly destroyed by vampire Waffen-SS and Vatican crusaders (complete with medieval armor), or flashbacks of Vlad III Dracula's life and "death" in Romania.
Jazz could work for the first couple of episodes (up to the Valentine Bros part), but after that the mood changes.

I agree. The music worked well for the tv series but a change would be needed for many of the new scenes. I look forward to hearing the orchestral score over london being attacked and overun with nazi vampires, i think it will add to the dramatic feel.

I'd say anyone who thinks it's fun to be shot to pieces and stab his hand trough other peoples torsos are pretty much insane
Oh, and people who believe vampires are real
Most of the characters in Hellsing are more or less insane, but that's to be expected of their working environment, and it's what makes them interesting
Of the little I have seen I'd have to say I like Celes and Integra more in this series than in the last one. They are way more badass now And they seem more insane too, which is in this case pretty close to the same thing.

Have you read the manga? Compared to other characters in the series (mainly Archbishop Maxwell and most of the Millennium characters), they're sane. Even Alucard.
