Question: will this title be made available in Canada in some form or is this another slap in the face to Canadian anime fans?

Given Viz's track record, consider it yet another slap in the face. I'm still pissed at their use of Hulu for everything, locking us out. >__> Last edited by burnpsy on Tue Sep 25, 2012 7:31 pm; edited 2 times in total |

Woo, low quality Hulu streams for an anime that is all about the visual quality.

For some reason I had a strange feeling Viz would get this one but I really thought they'd get Magi.

Oh crap, you're right. When I heard about this, I was just thinking about how I prefer CR for my anime, I wasn't even considering the video quality. *sinks further into depression* |

Okay, every anime fan has had a time where they get incredibly incensed over something.
This is that time for me. f*ck you, f*ck you, F*CK YOU Viz, you greedy shits, for getting this. Now I can't expect low quality streams, it will take goddamn forever to actually get here, AND it probably won't be in a high-quality set. F*ck this. ARGGGGGGGH |

How about that, that's two in two days! I wonder what tomorrow has in store for us.... K being the 2nd show I was the most eager to watch this season (the 1st being Hidamari Sketch), this news really bums me out. :\ |

I want to give VIZ the benefit of the doubt here, I really do...but it's difficult. I know they're trying to change and push forward with new venues like Neon Alley, but I can't help but feel pessimistic.
I've been looking forward to K for months now, ever since the first PV was posted and totted as GoHand's new, original anime. We don't often get original anime these days, so when you see one pop up, it's something special. The staff attached to this anime is impressive, to say the least, and my anticipation for it is quite high. So when I hear that we'll not be getting a decent stream/simulcast, and that we likely won't be seeing a physical product for a long time (if ever), my heart sinks. Again, I want to be wrong. I want to believe that VIZ is going to stream it, dub it and put it out on the market ASAP. I'm not really a dub fan, but if that increases the likelihood of it being released, then so be it. With something as painstakingly-animated as this, I would like to enjoy it in the best medium possible. |

Funny. I was thinking to myself the other day they might go after this. Kind of surprised I was right.
While I doubt the Hulu streaming thing will change anytime soon I wouldn't worry about a physical release as much as before. With the Neon Alley thing going on, there's actually incentive for them to push titles out of the gate and dub them faster. |

Somehow I doubt that the English dub of Monster, which was completed as it aired in full on the Sci-Fi Channel, is what held up its physical release beyond the first box. Unless the anime is Naruto or Bleach, there is always reason to worry with Viz releasing anime. I'm not sure if they've ever even done a BD release. |

Well their claim at the panel where they first announced Neon Alley was that everything airing on there will get a DVD/BD release regardless of sales. You can take that with a grain of salt I guess but they haven't cancelled anything in recent memory so it might be worth giving them the benefit of the doubt until they actually screw up again(which hopefully won't happen, but eh). Also Inu Final Act is getting a BD release as well as the Berserk movies so they are doing BD. As for how well they'll do it I have no clue... This show sounds kind of interesting, and so I'm glad it is licensed, but...
No Crunchy subs means I can't use the Site That Shall Not Be Name to get my pirated copies. I shall rage impotently against this minor inconvenience! *Weakly shakes fist at sky* Actually, the problem is that I am only minorly intrigued, and therefore the minor inconvenience must be weighted against the minor intrigue on the scales of procrastination, and on those scales inconvenience always wins. |

Do you somehow manage to watch the shows you watch on some really big HDTV or something? Seriously asking here, no sarcasm behind my question. |
