I hope that this is some sort of hint that someone plans to license the new Lupin show for North America.

It's a long shot, I know, but still.... I'll take any hints I can get.

Well, Funimation simulcast the series so as long as the streaming numbers are good enough I'm sure they'll try to pick up a home video license.

Holy ravioli, if only I could be there! "Fujiko" turned me into such a big twitterpated fangirl for Yamamoto; I'd really love to meet her and listen to her talk about her work!! I hope everybody who has the opportunity to see her does so and has a great old time!

Why does Dallas get all the cool cons, dammit! San Antonio's got nothing on this...

Yeah, with Morimoto also there, this is probably the best GOH list I've seen in a while. The flight down to TX would be cheap for me, but the hotels probably not as much.

This is the second time in my life that I have wanted to go to Texas. This is a guest that I'd really like to meet.

After having really enjoyed Lupin III ~The Woman Called Fujiko Mine~ and becoming increasingly excited, however prematurely, about FUNIMation's eventual release of Michiko e Hatchin (I mean... just watch that OP) I'm really interested in Sayo Yamamoto. She seems like an uncommon talent and a rather interesting one to boot. I'm glad to see that she's dipping her toes into the North American convention scene. I hope it goes well so that she might eventually show up at one that I can flipping attend. (C'mon Otakon 2013... maybe)

I am hopeful that they will release it on home video here, but I don't know. We have no idea what the streaming numbers were and it's has a little 'arthouse' feel to it as well as being part of a franchise that didn't really take off into the wild blue yonder here. I'm a little skeptical since they already licensed Jormungand from their spring simulcasts, but not Lupin III ~The Woman Called Fujiko Mine~. Of course, Jormungand is far more in FUNImation's wheelhouse and might have different, easier licensing terms. Oh well, they waited four years before snapping Michiko e Hatchin up, perhaps if that sells acceptably, they'll in time look to the director's other work.

Be sure to give her my regards.

PS This is kind of ridiculous but I just noticed that in the featured image, Yamamoto is wearing big chunky honking sunglasses just like Fujiko and Michiko!

PPS Looking at the guest list makes me wonder WHAT IF THERE WERE AN ANIME that was based on an Arina Tanemura manga and directed by Sayo Yamamoto and written by Dai Sato and produced at Studio 4C with Koji Morimoto? aaaaaaaaa

Anime Fest has always blown A-Kon away as far as guests. I don't understand why A-Kon is still like three times the size.
