Well...I was enjoying the commercial at first, but then I saw how far into the story they were going.
I would have thought it would end with Jinei. He's a fun villain and the end of an important tournaround. Looks like they're going further in the series which would dilute the quality of the film's story arc with multiple tales.

I'm not expecting it to be anything close to the manga or anime story as long as the 'feel' is still there -- but yeah, I wonder if they're packing too much into the story for it to even be a functional movie. OTOH, I don't see Shishio, so will it be split into several parts?
The period setting looks extremely well done, though. Very excited to catch this.

Man that looks sweet! Saito is one of my favorite characters and the quick flashes of him look pretty good, even with the signature stance. Hope it gets licensed here.
Story wise, it looks like they are covering all of the first part of the manga with the establishment of the main characters and all (volumes 1-4 or so), which could fit into a movie pretty well. Also saw a few flicks to Kenshin's past (presumably via flash backs).
At first I thought the white-haired guy might be Enishi, but the look wasn't quite right. Maybe it was Jin-e or part of of the flashbacks?

Eh, i'm more interested in the one ok rock song that was playing.
Anyway, looks like they are trying to cram way to much into one movie.

I didn't expect it to look this good. But yeah, it does look like they're trying to accomplish too much in one movie.

I think this look awesome! Especially when considering how most live action manga adaptions usual go, Rurouni Kenshin looks promising.
It does look like it's going to cover a lot of the first arc in one movie, but they probably aren't doing a straight adaption of the manga stories anyway, so they'll be changing certain stories to flow better for them.
Besides aren't the Cinema ban chapters Watsuki is doing now supposed to be indicative of how the movie is going to be? If it's going directly by that then it should flow a lot quicker then if they tried to directly adapt the old manga chapters.

While I agree with the sentiment that the preview does make it look quite impressive, I've also got to agree in wondering how they're going to cram the whole first season of the anime into 2 1/2 hours.
