What anime is a musical? It (and politics) are among the rarest anime genres?

I don't know any anime that are musicals themselves, but I do know some that have been adapted into musicals. Hunter x Hunter, Prince of Tennis, Sailor Moon, Bleach, and Galaxy Angel have all been adapted into live musicals. But I haven't seen any of them so I can't comment on whether any of them are good or not.

Ya, its taken from the introduction to the last episode, but it's only like 2 minites long though. They also changed the lyrics and some of the images for the trailer.

Yes, that thread pretty much bottomed out the issue.

I can think of one episode of Excel Saga. It is funny though, I always thought there were a lot of politics in Anime.

All the Best,

I'll got out on a limb and say Violinist of Hamelin. It's not a musical like Mary Poppins, but a main part of the show is classical music. The animation is really bad, lots(and i mean LOTS) of still images. I think that's because the animation budget suffered from them having to get permission to use so many classical pieces. The story is very good though.

You can try Beck also. Alot of music and singing, but again, not a musical.

The only anime that comes close to a "musicial" is Interstella 5555 mainly since there is no dialogue and there's only music but that is one type of musicial. I can't think of any animes that feature the type your talking about. Very rare it seems...oh well, I don't like that kind of musicial anyway ( but I love Interstella 5555 Very Happy )

Starlight Angel from Robot Carnival could be "musical". It's not exactly that but there are no dialogues and music could be consdered an important part of it, i don't remember if there were any synchronization anyway.
In robot Carnival there were "Cloud" also, another piece with only music.

Bye.
