Volume 5 of Gokudo came in yesterday and today saw the delivery of volumes 2-5 of Lucky Star. *Looks at shelf* I've been wanting a TV, but a trip to IKEA might be a better idea...

Actually I could still use a duplicate of Emma 9, it's the only volume my friend is missing. I often search for manga for other people as my luck with it seems to be incredible.

I do the same thing! I just recently shipped box of books to a friend of mine, all out-of-print and hard-to-find titles that I accumulated for her.

@brainchild

I PM'd you back! I was thinking of listing them on Amazon or something, but that looks rather convoluted -__-;; and I'm a rather simple person

Thanks to the Bargain Hunting thread I found out about FUNimation having a dirt-cheap sale on their site on some anime. I got these:

Blassreiter DVD Box Set
Corpse Princess Part One-Aka
Corpse Princess Part Two-Kuro
Oh! Edo Rocket Part One
Oh! Edo Rocket Part Two

All were $10 each and there are other sets at that price. They are also selling some S.A.V.E. sets buy-one-get-one-free. Shipping is free on all orders over $25 and they didn't charge me sales tax.

Blassreiter is the only blind buy. Since the sale is good for a few days I guess I should have checked some episodes but from what I heard on the reviews and the comment threads it takes a while to get going. Anyway, it's $0.42 per episode so what the hell.

I almost bought Corpse Princess during last year's TRSI Xmas sale, but I had to draw the line somewhere. Looks like I saved $8 by waiting.

Other than some misc. con gets, I bought a copy of Chobits: For Your Eyes Only. Having seen through the pages online, I wanted my own copy (finally). However... I had no idea that Tokyopop censored all the pics where Chi has her shirt off. Obvious boob lines missing and whatnot... Disappointing... Editing an ARTBOOK of all things! And yet, left in the actual manga? I'm confused... I still like it, but it's disappointing (not for not seeing proper nudity depicted, but it's editing the art in an artbook!)

I bought some manga at a Barnes & Noble for the first time in quite a while.

Manga
Hellsing (volumes #4 & #5)
Claymore (volumes #1 & #2)

I'm continuing Hellsing after some months mostly involuntary hiatus.

I've been meaning to read Claymore for a long time since watching the anime on a whim is what brought me back into this fold.

It isn't anime, but Kids on the Slope fans might appreciate that I bought a copy of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers' Moanin'.

(I also bought a copy of I Am A Pole and So Can You, but that's neither here nor there. I'll drink to the memory of Maurice Sendak when I read it)

Just received the JoJo's Part 3 - Jotaro Kujo Statue Legend from AmiAmi today:
(More here.)
He's lovely.

Also downloaded my first SuBLime digital release, The Night Before the Wedding. Not on the virtue of the story (what story?) but because I generally like the mangaka's art (though this sure ain't the first of her titles I would have picked). I just... I really hate reading manga on a screen. After spending all day at work at a computer I'm not interested in more of the same at home. Watching dramas is different-- the monitor is just a glorified TV-- whereas reading manga involves a constant "click... zoom in... scroll left... scroll back... scroll down... scroll left again... click" over and over again. I can't see myself doing this again except for a few titles I absolutely must finish, such as whenever they catch up to unfinished BLU titles like Love Pistols (a.k.a. Sex Pistols) and Mister Mistress, though I'd rather they get proper print runs as well.

(Also, grabbed Carly Rae Jepson's mp3 "Call Me Maybe"* from Amazon after watching/loving this Queen In Hyun's Man fanvid. As much as I adore Rooftop Prince, the first 6 eps of QIHM [which I just discovered less than a week ago] totally blew me out of the water and have qualified it imo as the best drama of 2012 so far. If you are a K-drama fan or even vaguely interested in time-crossed romance, check this one out. Since this is an anime forum I don't want to get into all the drama-fan details as to why this is a such a new & refreshing series but just trust me [or better yet read my tumblr comments]. I've already put in a request to YA Entertainment to license it.

...And, it's kinda funny but all my knowledge of current American pop music these days relates to K-drama fan videos, no joke! When I listen to them I think of the drama fanvid with which I saw them.)

*See, I don't even know the proper titles! It's not "I Missed You So Bad," it's "Call Me Maybe." I often just refer to the song by what the fanvid is titled, whoops...

Just got the Kimi ni Todoke boxsets! They're the first NIS premium boxsets that I bought and I think that they were well worth it. I'm really looking forward to the Zakuro and AnoHana sets now.

Absolutely bizarre. To what end, do you think? Is it to protect the respectability of their brand? To avoid a rating? To circumvent Canadian and Australian laws against depicting nude androids?

Scored a bit of a (mostly) OOP haul at Anime North's Nominoichi (basically a flea market for anime, manga and related merchandise).

For $50 I got the complete sets of:

Arc the Lad
Arujna
Earthian - Angelic Collection (OVA)
Geneshaft
Kaze no Yojimobo
Legend of Himiko

The same seller also threw in the special edition of Spriggan for $5.

From other sellers I picked up the Viridian Tenchi Muyo! - Ryo Ohki ($10) and Madara ($5).

The Nominoichi was just a zoo, plus I had spent 2-and-a-half hours, mostly outside in the heat, in line to pick up my pre-registered pass so by the time I got this haul I was pooped and just left. God knows what other bargains I may have missed.

I had very good luck at Half Price Books yesterday! I got Blood: The Last Vampire and Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, both used but in good condition and both still had their paper things on the inside. Then new, I got Tweeny Witches The Adventures OVA and the first volume of Haibane Renmei, New Feathers. I've wanted this series for quite a while, so I didn't believe my eyes when I saw it. The only problem.... Now I want the other discs even more! Anime hyper I've always been convinced that this series will be released again eventually (even if it's a couple years from now), so I haven't felt the need to get it. But now that I have one.... I want them all!

No I didn't! That's great! Thanks for telling me! I cnan't wait for it to come out, this is one of my favortie series.

Now that I think about it, that's probably why I found it now. The previous owner probably saw Funimation was releasing it and decided to get rid of this disc. Anime hyper

My sister is paying me to watch her special needs cats, so I hit her local book and DVD stores (ok, Wonderbook is not local, but it's less than a half hour away), and I got the following

Manga
Pretear 1-3 ($3 each+tax)

Anime
Genshiken vol 1-3+ artbox ($14+tax, less than TRSI's price, used but it looks like new)

I find it odd that I've never seen Genshiken before, considering that my college video game club was named Genshiken after the show (as a result, I think "video game club" before "anime" when I hear Genshiken)

Sunday Funday order from Amazon.com

Super Gals Complete Collection.

My mom gave me an Amazon giftcard that she was not going to use so I decided to grab this along with a few other things.
