Really hoping for a fast recevery for her, she has such a nice and soothing voice.
And shamefully, I do hope it won't affect her role in the upcoming 4th season of Hidamari Sketch....

I don't like her voice very much, but she is a loved seiyuu, and I hope she comes back soon. Hope that her ailment is also not that severe. I doubt they can keep Hidamari going without her... She is extremely famous as that role, and the entire Hidamari experience would be changed if she left. She might do the work for the show, and then not appear at concerts/handshake and autograph sessions. I can't imagine Hidamari would replace her.
For Mikuru, Hiro, Miu Nekoya, Rain, Kaede, Kate, Abiru and Rhiannon, I hope she gets better! Wow, I guess I like more roles with her than I thought! Best wishes out to her and her family... And her fans.

If I recall correctly, she underwent a throat surgery around this time 2 years ago. I wonder if this is related to that.

Is it just me or does this happen far too many times!
Seriously, how many articles have I read on this site in the past 4-5 years about a VA/mangaka/LN author going on hiatus or whatever due to health problems.....and sadly some of them end up dying.
It just seems weird to me.
Funny enough, Japan has one of the best life expectancy in the world.
Ironic I guess...

i don't really know any of her work besides Asahina in TMOHS but i hope it isn't anything really serious, this kinda story has become far to familiar of late in my eyes, and unfortunately some of those ended up passing away so best wishes and gool luck on her recovery

This is just an observation, but doesn't it seem like that being a VA or mangaka seem to work very hard and having a lot of health issues. Is this part of the nature of the anime industry or just me just drawing generalizations from a few occurances?

I'm unfamiliar with her work, but I wish her nothing but the best in her recovery. Hope it's nothing serious.

She wasn't one of my favorites either, until I heard her as the lead role in Special A. That show was decidedly generic, but she was so amazing there that it was all worth it. She was also pretty good in Majikoi ~ Oh! Samurai Girls if I recall, mostly due to the fact that she got to be her random self :3

I'm a huge fan of her Mikuru (though I love Sheh in the role as well), and she did great with such a small role in the I"s OVAs as well. I hope she recovers fast and whatever this is isn't too serious.

I hope she can star in Hidamari and the Puella Magi movies. Shaft really likes her. Lovely voice.
