Hopefully, now Madhouse will anime the rest of it.

I'm so upset about this ... I love Claymore, it's my favorite ongoing manga. I haven't read the final chapter yet, but there's no way it's getting the ending it deserves. And like someone mentioned, there was a special side story last month, they must have completely blinded-sided Yagi with ending it.
This really really sucks.

This sucks for those who like it but I thought the series went off the deep end a while ago and lost all direction and focus. Much luck and love to the writer, but I think its good to old yeller this before it crossed from meh to flat out bad.

I really can't believe this!!!
OUT OF NOWHERE
The "ending" wasn't bad, but it's not a REAL ending...
What happened to Clare?

Yea, the end didn't seem quite right. Either:
1. He's not healthy and is taking a break or not healthy and that's the end.
2. He's burnt out and taking a break from doing Claymore or he feels really tired of it and that's the end.
3. It maybe a break to prep for a timeskip for Claymore 2.
I hope his health is ok or its a temporary illness, too many people have passed on in the last few years. I've enjoyed his work since Angel Densetsu and his artwork has just gotten better and more detailed. The story has gotten a little weak imho, but I still enjoy it. I have all the Viz volumes and hopefully before we catch up to the Japanese volumes we will have a better idea of what's going on.

As I understand it, the ending of the anime diverged from the manga enough to make that difficult (at best), so a reboot would likely be in order.

Some people think the series ended because of a new law in Japan.

"Difficult" ? I humbly beg to differ. The main antagonist was still alive at the end and also a number of other enemies. It wouldn't take much imho to pick up right were it left off. Yeah, it wouldn't be exactly what happened in the manga but an episode that transitioned into another season wouldn't be difficult with some minor adjustments. However, I'm not sure everything that followed afterwards in the manga would be so easily adapted to anime. I think it might require a fair amount of editing and then of course is the ending. If the manga is truly ending here, it is a bit unsatisfying. I think the challenge would be crafting a suitable end if another season was adapted to anime.

I haven't been reading the manga myself (although I've been tempted to), but I do have the anime series and quite enjoyed it. The ending of the anime certainly left me with the feeling that there could be a Season Two, but if the anime diverted from the manga to the extent that others have mentioned, then that could be a bit tricky. I'd still like to see a Season Two, even if it meant diverging somewhat from the manga story line to create a satisfying ending to Claymore..

Pretty much. I think the last 2 episodes of the anime were not canon from the manga. And regardless the way they ended it....if you can call what they did a freaking ending....makes it a bit difficult. This news saddens me. I had planned to invest in the manga hoping for a better and more fulfilling ending then in the anime. I see that won't be happening either.

Whoa, just read the last chapter, and what a terrible experience! Claymore was and is still one of my favorite anime, but to think that the manga ends in an even worse way than the anime did.
I didn't think the Bakuman's ending was great but Claymore took that to a new level, too many answers are left. Shame that while Bakuman did become more and more interesting each chapter, Claymore just went downhill since and look what happened.
And don't forget guys, Gantz also ends this year.

To be honest, Claymore has been going for 11 YEARS!
It just doesn't seem that long because it's a MONTHLY manga.
