I Know what you're thinking, Is there stock in their warehouse? Will that show ship in 5-10 days or never?
You've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky?
Well, do ya, punk?

Deep Discount Anime Sale

DVDPlanet Sale

Should be fine, unlike the infamous Black Friday sale most looks like stuff that should be in stock. (upon further investigation- there's an awful lot marked as "Out of Stock"

Still, look out for titles that say "Out of Stock – Usually ships in 5-10 days"
that claim from Deep Discount has proven to be very unreliable. DVD-Planet is a bit better at removing their OOS items or at least being truthfull about their status, but they're still practically the same company- so be careful with eaither site's sales.

I got an email from DD tpday saying something about an anime sale starting 4/20 but I guess they're starting early. Prices don't look that great on most things. One oddity I did notice was they are charging more for the DVD version of ef-a Tale of Memories than for the BD, which is a bit cheaper than it would be on a TRSI publisher sale. I got burned on a few of those last year when Sentai BD sets I bought for around $35-36 dropped to $28 during TRSI holiday sales, so I think I will skip this sale. Besides money is tight and I have outstanding preorders to pay for. Best of luck to anyone who does order.

Question posted on DD's FB page:
I was confused about a sale on your calendar advertisement. On it it noted an "Anime Sale" on April 20, but if you click on it it brings you to an anime sale that is running. Does the 20th refer to the end of the sale? Or a different sale?

Answer
-- oops! Sorry. The anime room is still under construction. It was an error to include the link in the email - these prices will be reduced before the sale goes live on the 20th. Thanks for letting me know about this!

Laughing DD, proving once again that no one knows what anyone else is doing.

in short, never mind:

Answer 2:
*sigh* oops again. I was misinformed. The Anime Sale is going on even as we speak. Apparently today, the right hand (me) doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I'm so sorry! The sale is on - prices are set. Please enjoy and I'm so sorry for the confusion.

Nice try, anyway. Sounds like Emily Litella does their customer service.

Perhaps they should change their name to "Confuse-a-Customer Ltd.".

For the sake of anyone who ordered I hope the billing dept. knows the sale is on. Rolling Eyes

I remember seeing someone posting a really good deal on Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (Blu-ray) here on the Retail board but I can not remember who it is.

Amazon

If you can find some other items sold by Amazon that pushes your total to $25 or more, you can get free shipping via Amazon's FSSS.

Thanks for the post Naked Beast, I thought I noticed some anime titles going cheaper than usual all of a sudden. Helps a lot to see a list lol.

Well I don't know how much this will be of use, but I've been noticing some real cheap Pre-order deals in amazon. All that I have listed are manga.

20th Century Boys vol. 22
$7.36 (43% off) Link
Gantz vol.23
$6.83 (47% off) Link
Genshiken: Second Season vol.1
$6.01 (45% off) Link
Heart of Thomas
$19.68 (44%)
Yotsuba&! vol.11
$6.31 (47% off) Link

I'm sure there's more pre-order deals i haven't covered but these are deals that I've noticed so far.

FamilyVideo has the blu-ray for K-ON!! (Season 2), Collection 1 for $39 (the DVD is $35). This weekend, you can get free shipping with code: LASTCALL.

Also, report the prices to Amazon's product pages and maybe they'll match it.

Add two family-friendly movies to your collection. Choose two Blu-ray titles below and save $8.
Follow these steps:

Click the Add to Cart button at the bottom of the page.

Oh wow the Ghibli deal is actually pretty good! Especially since they barely have sales for them anyways. I did Castle in the Sky and Arrietty, but for some reason only Arrietty can be sent to store. Oh well, looks like it's free shipping anyways! Thanks!
