Well, that's your opinion.

Even though those sponsoring companies appear to be big, they are not big enough to take over the world like Hollywood. How come they haven't taken over Hollywood if they are big?
Anime and Manga are only things remain for Japanese to sell when their physical products like electronics and automobile lost their edge.

Government is doing what government is supposed to do: To protect its economic interests. All governments do that one way to the other. I do admit that Japanese system is flawed, but at least it's trying to protect economic interests of business, from small to large.

Hundreds of small companies who actually produce our beloved anime and manga are scraping to make living. Typical TV and feature anime budget is a small fraction compared to Hollywood animation. $3 million is a joke when making commercial animation in Hollywood. But to Japanese, it's a serious business.

Japanese fan are subsidizing the production cost through expensive physical media sale. We're lucky that we get to watch the same things as Japanese do and pay a lot less for physical media copies.

Getting punished for illegally uploading copyrighted materials without authorization is the right way to fight piracy. It is better to go after the uploaders, than the downloaders.

That's the sort of reasoning that leads to things like reinstating the Shah and invading Iraq. That said, this is simple enforcement of a monopoly; nothing to see here.

It is not a monopoly, nor an enforcement for one. Likewise, if you were producing something and someone was distributing it to the world, you would want to do something about losing your potential income. Unfortunately, companies have problems with taking legal action against individuals. This does happen, but it takes a lot of time and money to do so. In which case, the company loses more money by trying to make a point. So, law enforcement via local, prefectural, or federal government has to be used in some cases.

I'm pretty sure if an CEO and/or person of said business came to your door for uploading their product, you would not talk with them and maybe not even answer your door. Likewise, you wouldn't take them seriously if they sent you an e-mail to cease and desist operations. This is if you knew no law enforcement could enforce the law, of course.

You'd think they'd use something else other than Share Program at this rate.

If it's a content from bds or dvds that would be sure illegal but I think they could very well overlook the problem of uploading tv episodes. It's something that airs on tv for free anyway.

Concur, you'd think they would have figured it out already.

I don't know why they continue to use Share when it's been known for like 5 years now that anonymity is compromised on it. That's why Perfect Dark was created, after all.

I guess they just assume they won't be the one that gets arrested...

Copyrights and patents are forms of monopoly. You can give it all the ethical justification in the world but that doesn't change the fact that the state grants you the privilege of being the sole legal seller.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you just stated that it is ethically wrong to allow a person to be the sole legal seller of their intellectual property.

No, the laws are there to protect businesses from getting ripped off by people who mistakenly believe that anything digitized suddenly becomes public domain. What I am seeing here is typcal made up crazy logical fallacies as usual. Must be some kind of guilt or something when people try so darn hard to come up with twisted arguments that the businesses they steal from are the bad guys.

Perfect Dark isn't that secure either. It takes a little more work than Share but Japanese police have had ways of tracking files on that service for years now. There is no secure way to do P2P filesharing.

Saying something you don't like isn't a logical fallacy; false equivalence, however, very much is. The idea that copyrights and patents aren't monopolies is fairly recent and even the US constitution uses the phrase "exclusive Right", which is just another way of saying "monopoly".

If only there were proof these businesses were bad guys.
