And with that new information, the English Cast list in the Encyclopedia can be unlocked now, right?
Man, this dub is going to be quite interesting.

Now you can be doubly annoyed by her character. j/k BTW, saw that photo of her at AOD, and she's still got it. What a MILF.

Nice...Sub or Dub, ADV ain't gonna use them silly Movie Quotes that AnimEigo did in their Remastered Version.
AKA a Proper Translation.

Maybe this can start a small trend? Doubtful, but I'll keep wishfully hoping

That's interesting news. I already have the subtitled boxsets, though, so I don't think I'll have much motivation to buy ADV's version.

Don't think you should say that here.
I think this dub will be interesting. Of course, we all know that some sub-worshipper moron out there will start complaining "Minmei's dub voice is horrible!" or something. Actually, I hope that happens, because then we can pwn him.

No offense, but there's little I'd like less to listen to than slaughtered, unintelligible, heavily accented English on a dub.

Actually, her voice isn't that heavily accented. That was the one thing that impressed me most when I went to her AWA concert in 2004. Sure, you can tell that English isn't exactly her first language, but she has lived in the States for quite some time since 1984 (I forget if she mentioned when she moved to the US) and has picked it up very well.
I also have AnimEigo's boxset release and wasn't planning on purchasing ADV's re-dub/new set, though this one I might fork out some extra cash for a duplicate copy.

That depends.
Mari Iijima is Fluent in English. I would imagine some other Japanese VA talk in Engrish will not be that cool.[/b]

This is very good news. Sounds like she has the compotency of my Japanese Lecture professor (which is a complement) and this will eliminate any awkward transitions into song. Yay!
Does this mean Ms. Iijima's carreer has come full circle?
900 posts, wow.

I think the post was in response to the idea of a trend starting rather than the idea of this one person reprising her role for an English dub.
