That's pretty awesome. I also saw on their facebook page that they have licensed Lovely Complex, which is surprising since it's so new compared to most of the stuff they have licensed. They said it's coming in one complete boxset, albeit with no dub, so that's a little disappointing. I'm still getting both of these releases though Smile .

Discotek is also releasing Lovely Complex. Announced minutes before Harlock.

I was watching Harlock on ANN when they were streaming it but never finished it and I saw a few episodes of Lovely complex at a local Anime festival so this is good news to me.

And the Saga of this show getting picked up continues. This time we might have a happy ending. I'm so happy. Now to go tell them I can live without Galaxy Express 999 tv. It's 113 episodes I got bored and skipped to the two that Harlock was in and that was it.

S'more Entertainment is releasing the Galaxy Express 999 TV series in NA.

Unfortunately, with no English dub, I won't be picking this up. Shame, as I'd really like to see the series (I have the Endless Odyssey OAV series).

That's amazing, never would have though this would get licensed, until they grabbed the Galaxy Express TV series which would be an even harder sell.

OMG Shocked
Even though it won't have a dub, I'm still picking this up.
Although it would have been nice to hear Scott McNeil as Harlock, loved his performance on the two Galaxy Express 999 filmes

Not that you don't have the right to buy it if you don't want it, but if you really like Harlock, is it really such a sin to not have a dub? It just seems a shame to not reward going out on a limb like this with a purchase.

Nowadays I get more excited at DiscoTek license announcements than I do at Sentai or Funimation announcements.

I feel the same way. I really liked the English dub that Ocean Group recorded for those; it's a shame that they never got to do more. I'd love to hear Dinobot playing the quintessential badass space pirate, but I understand that it's infeasible for DiscoTek.

Even so, this is a classic series and I look forward to owning it. Leiji Matsumoto can at his best create a really engrossing, operatic atmosphere. I look forward to at last getting to see this.
