Wow, sales really plummeted after that 3rd weekend. I thought for sure it was going to pass Yugioh to clinch the 3rd place spot.

When a film is only pulling in about $75 a day in your theatre, it's no wonder many theatres nationwide dropped it.

The 3rd weekend gross already dropped 2/3rd precipitously while it still had over 1400 screens, when the Lorax came out, before being cut to about 1/3rd screens.

That may temper their expectations with future Ghibli releases.

I was so looking forward to watching this last weekend but come to find out it had come and gone from my town. I guess the "theater-life" of a movie is around a month. Bummed out but I look forward to watching it on BD.
