Don't you think robotech is taking it far with the DVD's with the show?
First they came as individual discs, then the legacy sets where u basically get the individual discs but with an extra disc, then came the complete saga where it was three boxes that held all the dvds for that season that came without extras, then came the remastered with a few extra scenes and remastered looks and a little plastic toy, now there coming out with a protoculture edition holding all the remastered discs and extras but sadly no little toy. It's driving me crazy with the amount of dvd's they keep making, I didn't even included the discs they brought out for the original macross, southern cross, and mospeada. If you're a robotech collector and want it all you're probably poor for the amount you will buying.
Personally, I think they should just stick to working on the new series or try bringing out the movies for macross and robotech rather keep producing dvd's on the older shows.Specially, since it's only been over a period of 4 years.(not sure if they have the rights to the movies or not and exluding macross plus and macross II, I'm talking about robotech:the untold story and macross:remember love)

Because people spend money on releases that they could not get before or chose not to buy before. I'm picking this protoculture set up since its insanely cheap and really good value.

Yea you are right Mr. Love, they are going waaaayyy overboard with all the dvd releases. I bought the whole series on vhs way back when. I wish I hadn't though because look at the prices on the dvd's now, 2 Dollars an episode! Jesus! I might actually be able to afford buying all the dvd's at this rate. Incredible value.
Enough is enough though, ONE definitive release is enough!

I bought the entire series in the 3 brick sets (One for each part of the series Macross, Southern Cross, GCM), myself. I wouldn't buy it twice. It was good but not that good.

I like the new releases coming out because that makes the old DVDs cheaper. I seriously picked up all 85 episodes for about $30. I bought the Macross saga brick for only $10 at Gamestop and they always have buy 2 used get one free sales so damn they were cheap and it was a good series. I dont care about remastered stuff I mean i feel if youve seen a series its the same series just looks a little, in some cases a lot better.
I'm not one of those people who can stand to watch an anime series more than once so I definetly won't pick up this long series once more.
You want remastered Veritech fighters? Play Robotech Battlecry. Its also cheaper.

It's pretty funny, I did pick up Battlecry for my little sister,(cause she has a PS2 and I don't) but I ended up playing it more than she ever did.
