I'm rather confused why some people want sequels to titles that had a solid, conclusive ending to start with, almost as confused why people want sequels to titles that are currently on-going.

I'm a little confused by the second list, angel beats as far as I know of doesn't have a sequel and heavens lost property as a second season, a movie and a possible third, and why in the world is castle in the sky on one of the lists?

Well, the first poll's worded like it's talking about having an epilogue(although that could just be an imperfect translation), so having closed endings isn't really a disincentive(this doesn't excuse the second poll). Also, is it just me or does Angel Beats not fit any of the qualifications given for the second poll?

Also, Red River isn't an anime...

I think these lists only include anime that have finished airing their latest season and don't have any announcements for another season/continuation, regardless of the actual completeness of the series.

Of the ones listed, I would most appreciate sequels to Angel Beats, Haruhi Suzumiya and Full Metal Panic. That being said, while I would adore more Toradora, it had such a satisfying ending... I wouldn't expect anything more from that.
(Although seeing Ryuji and Taiga's married life could be really cute and interesting. Aside from Itazura na Kiss and Clannad, I can't think of too many romance anime that have actually done that.)

Definitely want to see more Okamisan and Haruhi (as long as they don't pull another stunt like Endless 8). I didn't see this on there but I'd also like to see a second season for Yumekui Merry.

To the 3 people that voted for Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san, I love you. Shocked that Kenshin and Hikaru no Go weren't on either of the lists though. Especially when Pilot Candidate of all things made the first list. Guess 14 fujoshi really want to see what happens between Zero and Erts, heh.
EDIT: I also think it's hilarious that Sunred made the second list with zero votes.

I'm happy K-On! is in the top 10 of both lists, and since the manga continued with the older girls in college and the younger girls in their grad year of high school, there's still source material to animate, so I'm sure we'll at least hear something about a third series by the end of the year.
If I could pick one show not on the list, I'd choose Kamichu!, since I'd love to see what changes maturity brings to Yurie's divine abilities as she makes her way through high school and whether Kenji is an appropriate boyfriend for a goddess.

The same reason that we keep seeing fan fiction, spin-offs, and unnecessary sequels.
They don't want the series to end and are interested in sequels (if only to see their favorite characters again), regardless of whether it makes any sense.

God, I really hope Spice & Wolf gets continued. It's one of the most unique shows I've watched. I rarely ever feel so connected to a cast; usually I feel like I'm just watching a story, but in Spice & Wolf I genuinely happy or worried during Lawrence and Holo's adventures.
At the very least, I hope Yen Press continues to translate the light novel series. This series needs a lot more love and attention than it's getting.
As for Angel Beats!, another one of my favorite shows, I'd rather see it remade than sequel'd. It needed to be a two-cour series, what a shame that it only got 12 episodes.

NO!!!! They better NOT make a sequel to Angel Beats!!! It ended fine the way it was. Any sort of prequel that would be based on the prequel manga i'd be ok with, but not a sequel.
Go K-On!! I really hoping for a third season.

And....Skip Beat is nowhere to be found.
There is plenty of material for a Season 2 but nope, it's not gonna happen.
While this isn't on the list, I have been dreaming of Studio Deen doing a direct adaptation of Gravitation since the first series was a very different take on the manga.
Most of these shows, however, don't need a Season 2; some of them have a film coming soon, some might need a new adaptation, and others had decent endings or are ongoing.
I do agree with Fruits Basket (since it ended a few years ago, there's plenty of manga left to adapt into a new series), Darker Than Black (needs to answer some major questions that the previous series created) and
Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (the show ends just as the Inheritance Ceremony Arc begins in the manga).
Same with Full Metal Panic! (if I'm correct, there are a few light novels that haven't been adapted yet).
Would be nice to see an animated series about Red River especially after reading about it from the House of 1000 Manga.

If there were two shows I could get sequels to it would be Full Metal Panic and Spice and Wolf. Both shows have a lot of unanimated material that I would love to see.
I loved Toradora and enjoyed Angel Beats!, but I would not want to see a sequel to either, as they ended well on their own.

An Angel Beats! sequel would be interesting if it were set in the real world, like everybody meets again and begins to remember what happened... I could see it working, though it had a very conclusive ending. They would have to do it very right to top the first. It could possibly use a remake (maybe in a few years) giving it the 24 episodes it deserved.
And OreImo needs a sequel so that he can actually date his sister, really... I'm an awful person...
HOTD left off just begging to be picked up, so I'm guessing whenever there is enough manga material it will be adapted.
Haruhi could have a new season since it didn't really have huge story arcs. If they can keep up the quality from Shoushitsu then I'm all for it.
That's about what jumps out to me from the list.
