Taichi already returned in an earlier episode in January. |
Pfft. Yea if you call being shown as a shadow for two seconds "returning".
Hunters better not troll me again.

Well, this is depressing.
I can see where this series is going. It's just going to cocktease five-second cameos every ten episodes or so then make their 'big return' the final thing in the series.
Really starting to lose all hope in this series now. So much potential, such poor execution. The sad thing is that no matter how well they might pull off the ending, the fact the series has been so slow thus far drags it down.

Yea, Hunters turned into a straight monster of the week show and only that. Sucks too, after how great the first season of Xros Wars was.
Also I find it rather amusing that the spoilers were edited into my first comment. I mean, I can see why, but really, you couldn't even tell it was him when it happened. It was like "hey look at these mysterious figures on this boat that it's so dark you can't even tell what the shapes are. Good thing we announced who they were going to be like two months ago. Not like you guys were looking forward to it or anything. Oh well."

I suffered through Xros Wars pt. I & II. Part I was better than part II, but overall the whole season was terrible in my opinion. Weak enemies, boring protagonists (the kids at least), very little character development, and a far too predictable plot (it was divided into short arcs with equal numbers of episodes, so you always knew when the conflicts would get resolved).
And then it ended with a one-hit KO. All that army gathering and build-up for nothing.
I'd call it the worst season, but Xros Wars part III ("Young Hunters") doesn't even seem to have a plot. I gave up after episode 2.
This massive crossover thing is the worst idea the creators have ever come up with. It's just a marketing ploy (which is basically all Xros Wars has been).
What an awful end to a great series. I'm crossing my fingers for a statement saying neither season of Xros Wars is canon.

All of them appeared in that episode, but everyone except Tai and Marcus were silhouetted.

Don't care much for the other guy though, meh.

I'll totally watch any episodes with the old leads.
Just curious, do people find this Hunters season better than the first Xros Wars? I stopped watching that one close the end, I just couldn't force myself anymore. lol Is this one also rife with digi-camel toe?

I actually found the first Xros Wars kind of 'meh' to 'okay' myself. It had its moments but it was certainly nothing special, in my opinion. It's a shame, Xros Wars Hunters got off to a better start; the problem is that it's still on the starting block and hasn't gone anywhere for twenty episodes.
It's fairly common for Digimon series to take things fairly slowly for the first 10-12 episodes, but if something of significance hasn't happened by episode 13-15, something's wrong. Here we are approaching episode 20 and nothing of any consequence has happened yet. It's a shame, because I find Digimon series tend to be more interesting when they focus more on the Real World rather than the Digital World. But Hunters is just going nowhere. =/
My problem with the first Xros Wars is that it felt like a videogame plot used in an anime. The whole thing was basically an excuse of "Go to area, beat the boss". That plot might work in an RPG, but when it's an anime that hasn't got any gameplay to fall back on, that's a bit worrying.
I wanted to love Hunters. Digimon as a collective whole is my favourite anime ever (especially Savers) and at the very least I'll 'like' it because it's Digimon, but even I'm losing my patience with the fact that Hunters seems to be refusing to go anywhere. Personally I was ecstatic when they announced the cameo/ crossover idea; it's something I've wanted for a while (because face it, when they introduced DigiXros, having all the previous lead Digimon DigiXros together is about the most obvious idea ever). It's just a shame that it seems they're trying to have the whole series piggyback on that one idea.
I can likely see where this series is going now, and it's depressing. I'm guessing they'll tease-cameo the characters every couple of months, then only really have them 'return' right near the end of the series. Meaning they'll basically just waste time until then and dangle the carrot once in a while to keep you watching. =/ Even if that's not the case, the announcement basically confirms they won't be appearing again until for another month. Meaning that even if the plot kicks off full force then and there (which I highly doubt), they'll have already spent half the series basically doing nothing of any real consequence.
Ugh. So much potential that's having such shoddy execution. It's depressing. Even if they manage to pull this off well and make the ending epic (of which there's not even any guarantee), that still won't change the fact that the series has got off to a painfully going-nowhere start.

Wait, how will Taichi appear? In his Adventure 01 form or the Adventure 02 form? Also, isn't Imperialdramona combination with Ken's Digimon?

So Digimon is going to do a Forever Red.... or I guess in this case, you could call it Forever Goggles.
