I think it already has. Nice to see we're getting more football anime. I hope some time soon they continue the Captain Tsubasa series, the grandaddy of football anime.

I've been thinking about watching Giant Killing would anyone care to comment on if they recommend it or not?

I'd definitely recommend Giant Killing, really good football anime. You should watch it.

I recommend it, it is more realistic than Captain Tsubasa, which is not a bad thing but Captain Tsubasa is more 'fun' - Some can argue, and I think it is reasonable argument, if one wants realistic football they'd watch real Football, we got Classico 2nite.
