Read the article on the Guardian. The comments are rife with misogyny. I hope that doesn't happen here.
On a side note, there was a very funny parody of that DS game in Gintama recently :]

I keep forgetting that Keima from The World God Only Knows is based on an actual mentality that exists in some men in Japan and his attitude wasn't completely made up for the manga storyline.

That nation is doomed to extinction if this keeps up. However, I can see a faint similarity with UK young boys. Many experience so much trouble and strife in their family life that it no wonder they would rather be lost in their virtual realities of female behavior that doesn't exist in the real world. Though in the reports I've seen about LovePlus the virtual girlfriend can have her "bad days" and even give their "lovers" a mouth full just like a real one. The only advantage to it is the ON/OFF switch.

On a whim, one might also cite the low price tag as an advantage over the ongoing costs presumably associated with the activities simulated.

Believe it, or not, that was contemplated by the game creators, but found that girls were playing the game as is, as well. so never continued. But I'm curious to know what kind of boy do girls fantasis about anyway, apart from the usual Disney type prince with the fat bank account to match? something like Justin Beiber, or The Jedwoods perhaps?
