Because your point of view as an anime fan clouds your judgement. There's no question that Japanese animators are indeed good at what they do, but that is the case with animation all around the world. If a title has enough of a budget to be aired on television/the theater or enough acclaim to do well at festivals and in critic's circles, then the creators of those animations have definitely done something right. I, myself, have yet to see anyone who can animate a character as well Ollie Johnston or anyone with as much patience and technical skill as David Russo.

Well, there are many reasons for that, I think the Japanese are very good at it because there is so much more animation in Japan, this is due to several economic factors, such as the amount of money it takes to animate a show over what live actors would cost. It also seems that the Japanese are much more interested as a whole in Sci Fi and Fantasy works. TV studios in Japan have far less expendible cash availible to them than North American studios. It is a combination of cultural taste, economics, and artistic styles.

It isn't that the Japanese are better at it. Rather, the Japanese style of animation is more attractive to you than other styles.

I keep trying to come up with some arguement, but I don't know enough about your position, naruto01. Tell us what you think makes it better, so that I can narrow down my list of responses.
